April Session 1817

Ordered that Zebulon Tarkenton have leave of administration upon the estate of Cypren Goodman deceased entered into bond in the sum of twelve hundred dollars John Bateman & Danl. Bateman securities.

Ordered that Zebulon Tarkenton administrator to the estate of Cypren Goodman deceased sell the perishable estate of said deceased agreeable to law & make return to next court.

Ordered that Richd. Wood Esqr. be appointed guardian to Cypren Goodmans children protem for the purpose of defending them in a suit at the instance of Ann Goodman to the court for dower.

July Session 1817

Col. Zebulon Tarkenton administrator of Cyprin Goodman returned on oath an inventory and account of sales of the estate of Cyprin Goodman deceased & filed.

The years allowance of Mrs. Ann Goodman widdow of C. Goodman deceased was returned by Zebulon Tarkenton as follows viz. 15 ? $97.50 750 lb pork $60.00 12 gall. molasses $12 15 lb coffee $4.50 5 bus salt $5.

January Session 1818

Ordered that Zebulon Tarkenton administrator of Cyprian Goodman deceased have leave to sell negro Jack, belonging to said deceased and make return to next court.

Ordered that David Goodman be appointed guardian to Calvin Goodman, Hardy Goodman, William Goodman, David Goodman & James Goodman orphans of Cyprian Goodman deceased and that Jesse Spruill & John Bateman be recieved as his securities.

July Session 1819

Ordered that Richard Wood James Wood & Wilson B. Hodges Levi Bateman or any three of them audite & settle the estate of Cyprian Goodman with the administrator of said deceased & make return to the next term.

Zebulon Tarkenton administrator of the estate of Cyprian Goodman returned in open court an account of sales of the sale of negro Jack the property of said deceased amounting to $778.00.

October Session 1819

Ordered that Levi Bateman Richd. Wood & James Wood be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased with his administrator & make report to the next term.

Ordered that Ann Goodman be allowed the sum of forty dollars to be paid her out of the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased for ten months boarding & clothing William & James Goodman from 1 February 1818 to the 1st April 1819 as per account allowed by the court & filed.

January Session 1820

Ordered that Samuel Spruill James Wood & Wilson B. Hodges or any two of them be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased with his administrator & make report to the next term.

April Session 1820

Ordered that Ann Goodman be allowed the sum of twenty four dollars for board & clothing for William Goodman from April 1819 to April 1820 as per account allowed & filed.

July Session 1820

Ordered that Wilson B. Hodges James Wood & Daniel Bateman be appointed to audite & settle the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased with his administrator & make report to the next term.

October Session 1820

Wilson B. Hodges returned in open court the audited accounts of Cyprian Goodman deceased and find balance due the administrator of two hundred and twelve dollars and forty two and a fourth cents.

October Session 1822

Ordered that Ann Goodman be allowed the sum of forty dollars to be paid her out of the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased for ten months board and clothing William and James Goodman orphans of said deceased from 1st February 1818 to 1st April 1819 as per account exhibited and allowed at October term 1819.

Inventory & account of sales of the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased on 12 Apr 1817 by Zebulon Tarkenton administrator. Purchasers include Bennett Armstrong, Holloway Armstrong, John Barnes, John Bateman of Levi, Joseph Bateman (3), Levi Bateman, Joseph Cradock (2), Benjamin Davis, John Fanning, Annaman Goodman (50), Enoch Hassell, Evin Hassell, Silas Hassell, Levi Johnson (2), Thomas Langley (3), Elijah Phelps (2), Joseph Phelps(2), Urijah Phelps, Silby Powers, Hezekiah Spruill Junr., Esther Tarkenton, Zebulon Tarkenton (2) & Isaac West (2). Total sales of $244.85.

Bond dated 14 Apr 1817 in the amount of twelve hundred pounds appointing Zebulon Tarkenton administrator of the estate of Cyprian Goodman deceased, Jno. Bateman & Danl. Bateman securities.

Bond dated 13 Jan 1818 in the amount of one thousand pounds appointing David Goodman guardian of Calvin Goodman, Hardy Goodman, David Goodman, Will & James orphans of Cyprian Goodman deceased, Jesse Spruill & Jno. Bateman securities. Goodman deceased, Jesse Spruill & John Bateman securities.

Account of sales of negro Jack, the property of Cyprian Godman deceased on 24 Jan 1818. Sold to David Goodman for $778.00. Returned to court by Zebulon Tarkinton administrator.

Many documents related to two suits trying to recover debts owed by the estate of Cyprian Goodman. One was instituted by John Micheau and the other by Meirs F. Truit & Holloway Armstrong. One mentions a levy against the land of Cyprian Goodman joining Joseph Tarkenton.
