Summons dated 23 Oct 1797 for John Clayton administrator of John Gibson deceased to appear in court and answer the claim of Thomas Liverman Senr. for 15 pounds & 1 shilling.

Order to sheriff dated 27 Oct 1797 to recover from the heirs of John Gibson deceased the sum of 16 pounds & 19 shillings plus court costs of 9 pounds, 12 shillings & 4 pence which Thomas Liverman Senr. recently recovered against him. Heirs of John Gibson listed as Sally Ann Ward alias Gibson Ann Ward alias Gibson and Christian Ward alias Gibson.

Same order as above dated 27 Oct 1801.

Petition in January Term 1798 in which Thomas Liverman states that John Gibson borrowed 15 pounds & 1 shilling from him on 29 Nov 1777 which he has the note for and never repaid during his lifetime nor has his administrator John Clayton since the death of John Gibson.

Petition for dower in January Term 1798 by Martha Gibson widow of John Gibson deceased. States that after their marriage in 1775 her husband fell into a course of adultery with Ann Ward and deserted their marriage. During their marriage John Gibson was seized and possessed of 350 acres and considerable personal property in which she has right of dower. However, before his death John Gibson made deeds of gift of all his land and the principal part of his personal estate to his son Samuel Gibson, Ann Ward, and her daughters Sally Ann Ward & Christian Ward with the intention of denying her of her dower. She further states that the children of Ann Ward are infants under the age of twenty one and have no guardian appointed and need to have representation appointed by the court. She also states that John Gibson departed this life intestate in April 1797 and that John Clayton has been appointed as his administrator and has taken into his posession the remaining personal estate of John Gibson. The petitioner also states that according to Act of Assembly she is entitled to one year's provisions out of the personal estate. Requests that summons issue to the said Samuel Gibson, Ann Ward, John Clayton, Sally Ann Ward & Christian Ward to show cause why her petition should not be granted.
