In the name of God Amen. I James Ferebee of the county of Tyrrel and state of North Carolina being weak in body, but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be almighty God for the same, do make and publish this, my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say,

First I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Mahala Ferebee my negro boy Daniel and negro girl Rachel to her and her heirs and assigns forever

I do also give and bequeath unto my son Alfred Ferebee the sum of ten dollars.

And lastly, as to all the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate, goods and chattels of what kind and nature soever I wish to be sold on a credit of six months, and the net proceeds, after paying my just debts I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mahala Ferebee. And I hereby appoint my friend David M. Paryint ? executor and my beloved wife Mahala Ferebee executrix of this my last will and testament, hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the eighth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty six.

It is ordered that D. M. Sargeant the executor of James Ferebee deceased sell negroes belonging to the estate of the said deceased sufficient to pay the debts remaining unpaid against the said deceased.

Summons dated 28 Aug 1826 for David M. Sargent executor of James Ferebee to appear before a justice to answer the complaint of Willis Davis in a plea of debt in the amount of $30. On 4 Sep 1826 a judgement of $10 plus costs was entered against the defendant and the defenant appealed.

Summons dated the 4th Monday of October 1826 for Alex. Dillen, Saml. Rodgers & Richard Lucas to appear at the next court term to testify for Willis Davis in a case in which he is plaintiff and James Ferebee's executor is defendant.

Summons dated the 4th Monday of October 1826 for Peter Wynne, Jas. H. Ellis & James Mason (?) to appear at the next court term to testify for James Ferebee's executor in a case in which he is defendant and Willis Davis is plaintiff.

Execution issued 11 Sep 1827 directing the sheriff to sell negro boy Daniel the property of James Ferebee in the hands of his executor David M. Sargent to satisfy a judgement of $10 obtained at the instance of Willis Davis. Note from sheriff says indulged by the plaintiff.

Execution issued 9 Nov 1827 directing the sheriff to sell negro boy Daniel the property of James Ferebee in the hands of his executor David M. Sargent to satisfy a judgement of $10 obtained at the instance of Willis Davis.

Summons dated 27 Jun 1828 for David M. Sargent executor of James Ferebee to appear before a justice to answer the complaint of Allen Howett in a plea of debt in the amount of $30.
