In the name of God I Winey Etheridge, widow of Samuel Etheridge a resident of the County of Tyrrel and State of North Carolina, being of sound mind do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament revoaking all others, heretofore made by me, confirming this & this only – I give and bequeath to my son Stephen Etheridge, all the interest I may have in a negro boy named Joseph now in my possession to his own proper use and benefit and to despose of as he may think proper – 2nd I give and bequeath to my daughter Fanny the widow of Warren Alexander one bed and firnature now in her possession – 3rd I give and bequeath unto my son Stephen Etheridge & my daughter Betsey Ann Etheridge, each bed & firnature – 4th It is my Will and desire that all the rest of my property & stock be sold by my executor and the balance after the payments of my debts be equally divided between my two children Stephen Etheridge & Betsey Ann Etheridge I do hereby appoint Stephen Etheridge execr. To this my last Will & Testament, given under my hand & seal this 10th day of October A. D. 1840.

The last Will & testament of Winney Etheridge dec’d was exhibited in open court & proved by the oath of H. G. Spruill a subscribing witness thereto who swore that she was of sound desposing mind & memory at the time she signed said will let it be registered-
