Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


October Session 1798

Ordered that Penelopy Earl have leave of administration on the estate of William Earl deceased and give bond and security in the sum of 1,000 pounds Daniel Leggett Stephen Venters & Willis Draper securities.

Ordered that Penelopy Earl administratrix of the estate of William Earl have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make returns to next court.

On motion ordered that William Fagan Esqr. Levi Stubbs John Garrett & Joseph Garrett be appointed under act of assembly to lay out & set off to Penny Earl widow of William Earl deceased one years provision and make return to next court.

Ordered that Penny Earl administratrix of William Earl deceased have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make returns to next court.

January Session 1799

The allowance of Mrs. Earl widow of Wm. Earl deceased was returned in open court by John Garrett one of the commissioners appointed for that purpose ordered filed.

Pennelepy Earl administratrix of William Earl deceased returns in open court on oath an inventory of the estate of said deceased ordered filed.

Also an account of sales of said estate of said deceased amounting to 13 pounds & 1 shilling ordered filed.

Execution dated 28 Oct 1799 and issued 19 Dec 1799 against the goods & chattels of William Earl deceased in the hands of his administratrix for 63 pounds, 11 shillings & 7 pence which Martin R. Byrd Esq. recently recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages, cost & charges.

Execution directed to the Sheriff of Washington County dated 29 Jan 1800 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of William Earl deceased in the hands of his administratrix for 63 pounds, 15 shillings & 4 1/2 pence which Martin R. Byrd recently recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages, cost & charges.

Execution dated 30 Apr 1800 and issued 16 May 1800 against the goods & chattels, lands & tenements of William Earl deceased in the hands of his administrator for 8 pounds, 19 shillings & 1 1/2 pence which M. R. Byrd recently recovered from him in a suit for debt, damages, cost & charges.
