Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


October Session 1785

Ordered that John Davis orphan of Ephriditus Davis be bound unto John Alexander son of Michael deceased for the term of 13 years and 4 months & the said Jno. Alexander is to learn the said Jno. Davis the art & mistry of a cordwinder also to read & write.

April Session 1786

Ordered that Joseph McKimmy have leave of administration on the estate of Ephriditus Davis deceased & gave bond in 100 pounds - John Warrington & Thomas Hopkins securities - & the said Joseph McKimmy returns into court an inventory of the said deceased estate proved & ordered to be filed.

Ordered that the said Joseph McKimmey administrator of Ephriditus Davis deceased sell the perishable part of the said deceased estate & make return to next court.

July Session 1786

John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibits in court an account of sales of the estate of Ephriditus Davis deceased amounting to 31 pounds, 18 shillings & 7 pence.

July Session 1788

Thomas Stewart and Hezekiah Spruill Esquires appointed to audit and inspect and settle the accounts of guardians administrators and administratrix accounts of the deceased estates which is accordingly done as per entrys following to wit - Joseph McKimmey administrator of Ephriditus Davis deceased and find a balance due the said deceased estate of 18 pounds, 4 shillings & 3 1/2 pence filed.
