In the name of God amen: This 7th day of Novbr. 1779. Jonathan Davis of the State and County aforesd. being very weake and low of body but of a perfect sound and disposing mind and memory coling to mind the mortallity of his body and that it is appointed once for all flesh to die when it shall pleas God to call do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament recomending my sole into the hands of Almighty God who gave it and my body to be buried in a decent Christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors and as for the worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with I do give and dispose of the same in manner and form following.

First of all I will and require that all my just debts be setled and paid by my Executors as soon as may be convenient after my decd. by my Executors hereafter named.

Itemn - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved wife Matildo Davis one third part of all my movable Estate forever and I do lend my wife the use of all my lands and living till my eldest son William Davis is twenty one years of age without vanduing or selling of my worldly goods and then one third part to be divided to my wife.

Itemn - I give to my well beloved son William Davis a piece of Piney on Whewser Swam seventy five acres to him his heirs and assigns forever.

Itemn - I give and bequeath unto my well beloved son Arter Davis the land whereon I now live to him his heirs and assigns forever, as for the remainder part of my movable Estate not before given or bequeathed I will that the one third part of my movable Estate be divided between my two sons William and Arter Davis at the time of Williams coming of age to them their heirs and assigns forever.

Itemn - I give and bequeath the remainder part of my movable Estate to Edward Buncombe Davis and my daughter Greesille Davis at the same time to be equally divided between them when my eldest son comes of age them and their heirs and assigns forever. And I do utterly disannull and revoke all former Wills Legases and bequests by me formerly made & declaired either by word or writing and this only to be taken for my last Will & Testament and no other.

Itemn - I nominate my well beloved wife Matildo Davis and Richard Huff & Jesper Hardison Junr: my hole Executors of this my last Will and Testament deny and disnuling all and every Will or Wills by me heretofore made in Witness I the Testator hath set my hand and seal the day and date above written.

The last will and testament of Jonathan Davis was proved in open court by the oath of Henry Norman, ordered to be recorded.

Matildo Davis appeared in open court and qualified as extrix to the estate of Jon. Davis deceased.

Matildo Davis exhibited into open court on oath the inventory of the estate of Jon. Davis deceased ordered to be filed.
