Dated 1 September 1802

In the name of God Amen: This first day of September 1802. I Luraney Davenport of County Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being sick but of perfect mind and memory thanks be to God for the same therefore calling the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die. First of all recomending my soul into the hand of him that gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner and as touching such worldly estate as it hathe please God to bless me with I give and dispose of the same in the following manner and form. I constitue and appoint Frederic Davenport son of Moses and Moses Davenport my Executor.

Item- I give and bequeath to Rosy Davenport wife Moses my long cloke-

Item - Give and bequeath Leah Wiley tow petticoats tow short gounds and one apron and an equal part of the mittings and capes-

Item- I give and bequeath to Rosey Davenport one petitcoat and all my wearing shifts-

Item- I give to Rachel Rowe one petticoat and three aprons I give and bequeath to Frederic Davenport Jr. my big chest and one gold ring and the wore cloth and my hat. I give and bequeath to Ester Davenport daughter of Moses my dark grounded habit and homespun habit one muslin apron and one stone ring. I give and bequeath Luraney Wiley one large ring and one light grounded habit one homespun habit and three handkerchiefs. I give and bequeth to Mary Spruill wife of Demsey one coulered habit one white jacet and two homespun aprons. I give and bequeath Moses Davenport son of James the walnut chest and ring and two yards of homespun cloth. I give to Harriet Spruill one ring. I give to Betsey Spruill daughter of Thomas one rings and gound. I give to Alexander son of Moses Davenport my silver buckles. I leave my money to be equally divided between Moses Davenports sons VIZ: Fredc. James Alexander, Edmund and Neding (Reding?) I revoke and disanul all other former will by me made allowing this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in witness where of I have set my hand and Seal.

October Session 1802

The last will and testament of Luraney Davenport was proved in open court by Joseph Ansley a subscribing witness filed.

Moses Davenport came into open court and quallified as executor to the last will and testament of Luraney Davenport deceased.

Freadrick Davenport Junr. came into court and quallified as executor to the last will and testament of Luraney Davenport.
