In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Durrance of the County of Tyrrell in the Province of North Carolina being very sick and weak of body but Thanks be to almighty God of perfect mind and memory well knowing that it appointed once for all men once to Dye threfore humbly recommend my sole to almighty God in full hope of raise and resurrection to Life Eternal and as for such worly Estate as it has pleased allmighty to bless me with after paying my funeral Charges and all my just Debts I despose of as follows Viz:

Item - I give and bequeath to my two sons William William Durrance and Francis Durrance all my free holld lands and Tennements to be equally divided between them when the Eldest of them com of the age of twenty one years and in case of Death to the survivor of them.

Item - I give and bequeath to my son William William Durrance all the Cattells and hoggs belonging to me in the Plantation mark and one fether beed refaroing(?) the use to Elizebath Durants till my said son comes of age on her giving good security to deliver it in as good order as now it is

Item - I give to my son Francis Durrance all the Cattell and hoggs in my Proper marke and also a Beed.

Item - I give to my ungratefull Wife Sate Elizebath Durant Two Whells and a Box Iron & heters and the use of a beed as aforesaid.

Item - I give and bequeath to my two son as aforesaid all the resude and remainder of my Estate real and personal to my said sons William William and Francis.

I also nominate Constitute and appoint William Swinson and Francis Ward Executors of this my last will and testa,emt revocking all former wills made by me. In witness hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal and doe by thefore presents wasie and confirm this my last will & Testament dated this Twenty first day of November in the year of our Lord God one Thousand seven hundred and fifty Six.

This may Certifie that Francis Ward one of the subscribing Evidences to the within Will came into open Court and made Oath on the Holy Evengelest of Allmighty God that he saw Samuel Durrance Sine Seal Publish and pronounce the within Writing to contain his last Will and Testemant and at the same time he saw Alexn. Macclelean Sign his name and Mary Combs make her mark.

Then Francis Ward appeared and Qualified by taking the Oath as the Law in such case Directs Ordered that Richd. Spaight Esq. Secrtyr have notice thereof that Letters Tesementary issue accordingly.
