In the name of God Amen.

I, Jonathan Corprew of the county of Tyrrel and state of North Carolina being weak of body but of sound and disposing mind and memory blesed be God do this second day of January one thousand seven hundred and ninety two make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following - -

Imprimis. My will and desire is that all my just debts and funeral expenses be all satisfied and paid - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved son John Corprew the land whereon he now lives containing by estimation one hundred and seventy five acres be the same more or less one negro woman named Rose to him and his heirs forever - -

Item. I give to my beloved son Joshua Corprew the land whereon he now lives known by the name of Britts also one negro woman named Bess to him and his heirs forever - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved son Thomas Corprew a tract or parcel of land commonly known by the name of the Beach Island with all the lands thereunto belonging also one negro girl called Edy to him and his heirs forever - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved son Samuel Corprew the land and plantation whereon I now dwell with all the land thereunto appertaining also one negro man called Abram one bed and the furniture thereunto belonging and one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Penelope Corprew one negro woman named Alse one negro child called Ned and one negro girl called Nancy one bed with the furniture thereunto belonging one cow and calf to her and her heirs forever - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved son Malachi Corprew a tract or parcel of land lying and being in Beaufort County on the N side of Pamplico River adjoyning Mallard Creek containing by estimation two hundred and five acres be the same more or less with proviso that if the said Malachi Corprew dies without heir begotten of his body lawfully in such case said land to devolve on my son Thomas Corprew and his heirs forever I also give to my beloved son Malachi Corprew one negro boy called David with proviso that if he dies without heir as aforesaid said boy to be equally divided between my four children hereafter named viz. Joshua Thomas Samuel & Penelope I also give and bequeath to my son Malachi Corprew as ? one negro boy called James one bed with the furniture thereunto belonging one cow and calf to him and his heirs forever - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my son in law William Dwight five shillings currency to be taken by him the said William Dwight in full of every part or parcel of my estate whatsoever which he might be entitled to by law or otherwise - -

Item. I give and bequeath to my beloved grand daughter Elisabeth Dwight one negro woman named Thany said negro to be left in the hands of my executors for the support of the child till she arrives to the age of eighteen years but in case she should die before she arrives to that age or before she marries & has heirs lawfully begotten of her body said negro with her increase if any to be equally divided with my four children above mentioned in my will but if she lives to the age aforementioned or at any time sooner if she be lawfully married and has heirs lawfully begotten of her body my will and desire is that said negro with her increase be delivered up by my executors to her or her heirs as heretofore specified to her and her heirs forever - -

Item. My will and desire is that every part or parcel of my estate of whatsoever kind which has not been already given or bequeathed be equally divided between my five sons viz. John Joshua Thomas Samuel & Malachi to them and their heirs forever - -

Lastly. I constitute nominate and appoint my three sons Thomas Samual & Malachi Corprew executors of this my last will and testament revoking all other wills or gifts heretofore made confirming this to be my only last will and testament in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal the day and date first above written
