Tyrrell County Court of Pleas & Quarter Sessions


July Session 1818

Ordered that Thos. Crane have leave of administration on the estate of Joseph Crane deceased and has entered into bond in the sum of twelve hundred dollars Lemuell Basnight and Jno. Alexander his security.

Ordered that Thomas Crane administrator of Joseph Crane have leave to sell the perishable estate of said deceased and make returns to next court.

October Session 1818

Inventories & accounts of sales of the estates of Mary Banks, Joseph Crane, William Howett, of the orphans of Corbin Jones deceased & Joshua Powers deceased was returned proved in open court & ordered to be filed.

July Session 1821

Ordered that John Thoroughgood Selby Patrick Thomas Leigh & Frederick Davenport or any three of them be appointed to audite & settle the accounts of Thomas Crain as administrator of Joseph Crain deceased & make report to next term.

John Alexander was appointed guardian to Joseph Crain & Charlotte Crain orphans of Joseph Crain deceased who entered into bond with approved security. Ordered that he receive the estate of said orphans into his possession & account for the same as the law directs.

October Session 1821

Report of auditors on the estate of Joseph Crain was returned in open court ballance due the heirs $248.37 & filed.

July Session 1822

The following persons appeared in open court & renewed their several guardian bonds viz. Mary Liverman guardian to John Liverman's orphans John Alexander Capn. guardian to John Hassell, John Alexander Capn. guardian to Thomas Ludfords orphans John Alexander Capn. guardian to Sarah Crain, and John Alexander Capn. to Charlotte Crain -all of whom entered into bond with approved security & filed.

Bond dated 2 Jul 1821 in the amount of three hundred pounds appointing Jno. Alexander guardian of Charlotte Crane orphan of Joseph Crane deceased, Benjn. Sikes & Enoch Hassell securities.

Bond dated 2 Jul 1822 in the amount of three hundred pounds appointing Jno. Alexander guardian of Charlotte Crane a minor orphan, Daniel Bateman & Enock Hassell securities.

Bond dated 2 Jul 1822 in the amount of three hundred pounds appointing Jno. Alexander guardian of Jacob Crane a minor orphan, Daniel Bateman & Enock Hassell securities.
