October Session 1814

Ordered that David Clayton have leave of administration on the estate of John Clayton deceased & has entered into bond in the sum of five hundred pounds Solomon Hassell Esqr. & Joseph Cahoon securities.

Ordred that David Clayton administrator of the estate of John Clayton deceased sell the perishable estate of said deceased greeable to law & make return to next term.

October Session 1815

Richard Davis returned into court an advertisement notifying the creditors of Jno. Clayton deceased to bring forward their claims ordered filed.

July Session 1816

Ordered that Joseph White Jno. A. Patrick & William Meekins audite & settle the estate of John Clayton deceased & make return to the next term.

An account of sales for the residue of the estate of John Clayton deceased was returned to court by David Clayton the administrator & filed.

October Session 1816

Ordered that John A. Patrick Joseph White & William Meekins be appointed to audite & settle the estate of John Clayton with David Clayton his administrator and make return to next term.

An inventory of a judgement in favour of the estate of Jno. Clayton deceased was returned to court by David Clayton his administrator amounting to $55.50 & filed.

January Session 1817

The audited account of Jno. Clayton was returned to court by the administrator & filed.

October Session 1817

Ordered that Jno. A. Patrick, Joseph White and Silvanus Armstrong be appointed to audite settle and divide the estate of Jno. Clayton with his administrator & make returns to next court.

January Session 1818

Ordered that Timothy Jones, Joseph White & Sylvanus Armstrong be appointed to audite & settle the accounts of the administrator of John Clayton deceased & make return to next court.

January Session 1819

Ordered that John A. Patrick Joseph White & William Alfred be appointed to audite & settle the estate of John Clayton deceased with David Clayton the administrator , also divide the said estate with the lawful representatives & make return to the next term.

April Session 1819

The audited account of the estate of John Clayton deceased was returned to court by David Clayton the administrator & filed.

Bond dated 10 Oct 1814 in the amount of five hundred pounds appointing David Clayton administrator of the estate of John Clayton deceased, Solomon Hassell Esqr. & Joseph Cohoon securities.

Execution issued 2 Dec 1814 against David Claytons intestate John Clayton for seven pounds, seven shillings & six pence in costs and charges in a suit by Ruben Cohoon William Cohoon Barney Jones Thomas Cohoon & Benjamin S. Clayton.

Order to the sheriff on 27 Apr 1818 to expose to sale the remaining land and negroes in his hands unsold for want of bidders belonging to Benjamin S. Clayton which was levied on by John Clayton administrator to satisfy the sum of 27 pounds & 14 shillings which recovered against Benjamin S. Clayton by said administrator plus 6 pounds & 4 shillings for cost of suit.

A number of executions against Benjamin S. Clayton issued in attempts to recover the money awarded in the suit by the administrator of John Clayton against Benjamin S. Clayton.
