In the name of God Amen, I Thomas Basnight Sr being in sound mind and haven death in view done make my last will and testament.


Item 1st After my death form my wife Marthy to have me buried suitable to herself and my friends and pay the bill and all my debt (?)(?)(?)-


Item 2 I lends Marthy my wife may lands to her durn her lifetime and at her death then I give all my lands to my daughter Affi and to her eares for ever.


Item 3 After all my debts on hand I lende to my wife Marthy all my cattle hogs sheep and all my chattle property and every things belong to me durning her life time and at her death I give to my daughters Affi and Ziley Tweedy to be equally divided between them both at the death of Marthy my wife. and I heare make Marthy my wife exeter to this my last will and testament. This June 1-1872

Tyrrell County in the probate court 26 July 1873 a paper writing purporting to be the last will and testament of Thomas Basnight decd was exhibited before me and proved by the oath of Z Roughton & S. P. Morris the witnesses thereto, in due form (?) (?).

On motion of the executrix therein named it declared by the court to be the last will and testament of Thos Basnight and ordered recorded and filed, executrix certificate, will and probated filed see papers.
