I, B. S. Basnight of the County of Tyrrell and State of North Carolina being of sound mind and memory, do make and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following:

I give and devise to my two daughters Cora Eugene and Lola Olean Basnight all of my estate, both real and personal to have and to hold to them and their heirs in fee simple forever and whereas my daughters are minors. Now therefore my will and desire is that my brother Lemuel Basnight is hereby constituted and appointed Guardians of ......my two children to have and to hold the custody and guardianship of both of them respective persons and estates until they the said Cora E. and Lola O. Basnight shall s....ly am.... at the age of twenty one years and I do hereby constitute and appoint my brother Lemuel Basnight my lawful Executor to all intents and purposes to execute this my last will and testament according to the true intent and meaning of the same hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.

In witness whereof I the said B. S. Basnight do hereunto set my hand and seal this 8th day of Feb. 1871.

Signed sealed published and declared by the said B. S. Basnight to be his last will and testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other so subscribe our names as witnesses hereto.

This day was exhibited in open court for probate by Leml. Basnight a paper writing to be the last will and testament of B. S. Basnight at which time and place appeared E. B. Horton and Charles Leary the Subscribing witnesses hereto who being sworn said that B. S. Basnight executed in their presence and that they and each of ..... in his presence's and at his request signed the same as subscribing witnesses....., and that in their opinion the said B. S. Basnight was of sound and disposing mind and memory, and under no restraint to their knowledge.

On motion it is declared to be the last will and testament of B. S. Basnight and order the same to be recorded with this certificate Petition and affidavit of said.

Leml. Basnight being sworn doeth say: That B. S. Basnight, late of said county is dead having finish made and published his last will and Testament; and that he the said Leml. Basnight is the executor named therein. Further that the property of said B. S. Basnight consists of real and personal estate is worth about $2000. so far as can be ascertained at the date of this application; and that Cora Eugene and Lola Olena live in Tyrrell County are under 14 years of age without ..... are the parties entitled under said will to item.....property.
