In the name of God Amen: I Solomon Ashbee of the of N.C. and County of Tyrrell being in sound mind and memory thanks be to God and calling to mind the immortality of my body & knowing it is appointed unto all men once to die do constitute make and ordain this to be my last will & testament: In manner & form as follows: After all my just debts and funeral expenses are paid:

Item - I give & bequeath unto my well beloved wife Mary N. Ashbee all of my estate both real & personal forever and I make & appoint my wife Mary N. Ashbee my whole executrix given under my hand & seal Decr. 22d 1866.

A paper writing purporting to be the last will & testament of Solomon Ashbee decs,d is exhibited in open court by Mary N. Ashbee Exers. therein named and the due execution thereof by the said Solomon Ashbee proved by the oath of John A. Pledger & Wm. E. Shallington the subscribing witness. It is therefore considered by the court that the said paper writing & every part thereof is the last will and testament of the said Solomon Ashbee and the same is ordered to be registered & thereupon the said Mary N. Ashbee duly qualified as such.
