April Session 1787

John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibited in court an account of sales of part of the estate of James Anderson deceased amounting to 159 pounds, 9 shillings & 11 pence ordered to be filed.

October Session 1787

Ordered that Rachel Anderson administratrix of James Anderson deceased have leave to lett the remaining part of the perishable estate of James Anderson deceased aforesaid and make return to next court.

January Session 1788

John Snell Deputy Sheriff exhibited in court the account of sales of part of the estate of James Anderson deceased to the amount of 244 pounds, 10 shillings & 1 pence filed.

July Session 1788

Ordered that Rachel Anderson administratrix of James Anderson deceased have leave to sell all the perishable part of the estate of said deceased and make return to next court.

Thomas Stewart and Hezekiah Spruill Esquires appointed to audit and inspect and settle the accounts of guardians administrators and administratrix accounts of the deceased estates which is accordingly done as per entrys following to wit - Rachel Anderson administratrix of James Anderson deceased and find a balance due said administratrix of 34 pounds, 14 shillings & 9 pence filed.

October Session 1788

On motion of John Hamilton Esqr. ordered that sci fas issue under the act of assemble in the suit issued of Josiah Collins against Rachel Anderson administratrix of Jas. Anderson deceased against the heirs and devisees in order that execution may issue against the lands.

October Session 1799

Ordered that Hezekiah Anderson orphan of James Anderson deceased be bound to Hezekiah Spruill Esqr. till he arrives to lawful age to learn the art and mistery of a farmer.

Bond dated July Term 1787 in the amount of one thousand five hundred pounds appointing Rachel Anderson administratrix of the estate of James Anderson deceased, John Tarkinton & Nathan Bateman securities.

Account of sales of part of the estate of James Anderson by John Snell DS on 31 Oct 1787.

Many documents related to suits against the estate for debt, primarily by Josiah Collins who received 160 acres of swamp as payment in part. In some cases Rachel Anderson is referred to as alias Rachel Swain. There was also a suit by Rachel Anderson administrator against John Anderson. None of these suits mention the names of the heirs.
