April Session 1784

Appeared in open court John Swain and prayed an administration on the estate of Mary Alexander deceased granted and give bond 100 pounds - Ezekial Alexander and Eleazer Craddock securitys.

July Session 1784

An inventory of the estate of Mary Alexander deceased was returned into open court by John Swain administrator on oath ordered to be filed.

January Session 1785

Ordered that John Swain administrator have leave to sell the perishable part of the estate of Mary Alexander deceased and make return to next court.

April Session 1785

Appeared in open court Wm. Howett Dpy Sheriff and exhibited an account of sales of the estate of Mary Alexander deceased amounting to 14 pounds & 9 shillings & ordered to be filed.

Appeared in open court John Swain administrator and exhibited an account against the estate of Mary Alexander to the amount of 4 pounds & 3 shillings - allowed ordered to be filed.

July Session 1788

Thomas Stewart and Hezekiah Spruill Esquires appointed to audit and inspect and settle the accounts of guardians administrators and administratrix accounts of the deceased estates which is accordingly done as per entrys following to wit - John Swain administrator of Mary Alexander deceased and find a balance due said administrator of 1 pounds, 13 shillings & 1 pence ordered filed.

The only document in this file is a bond whose writing is very faint and unreadable. The flyleaf says John Swain was appointed administrator of the estate of Mary Alexander in April Term 1784 in a bond in the amount of 100 pounds with Ezekiel Alexander & Eleazer Craddock as securities.
