July Session 1822

Ordered that Thomas Leigh Fredrick Davenport and Ephraim Mann be apointed to divide estate of Abram Alexander deceased & alot & set off to Thomas Hopkins the distributive share of Michael Alexander deceased one of the heirs of the said Abram Alexander deceased & to whom the said Thomas Hopkins was appointed administrator & make report to the next term.

Administration on the estate of Michael Alexander deceased was committed to Thomas Hopkins who entered into bond with approved security & quallified agreeable to law ordered that letters of administration issue thereon & that he proceed to sell the perishable estate of said deceased and account for the same as the law directs.

January Session 1823

Thomas Hopkins returned on oath in open court an account sales of negro boy George the property of Michael Alexander deceased amount $192.50.

October Session 1824

Ordred that Samuel Spruill, Ephraim Mann, Edmund Alexander commissioners appointed to settle the estate of Michael Alexander with Thomas Hopkins his administrator and make report to the next term.

Bond dated 1 Jul 1822 in the amount of two hundred and fifty pounds appointing Thomas Hopkins administrator of the estate of Michael Alexander deceased, John Thoroughgood & James McAllister securities.

Petition September term 1822 by Thomas Hopkins in right of his wife Nancy showing that Thomas Hopkins administered upon the estate of Michael Alexander who died possessed of a negro felow named George and that the said Michael left as his heirs Nancy Hopkins Lovi Alexander Charles Alexander Thomas Alexander Hardy Alexander Robert Alexander Abraham Alexander your petitioners, who request an order to sell the said negro and divide the proceeds among the heirs agreeable to law.

See the court minutes and estate papers relating to Abraham Alexander in 1816 and the will, court minutes and estate papers relating to Sally Alexander, wife of Abraham Alexander in 1818. Michael Alexander was their son.
