Alexander, William Senr., 1820


Execution dated 26 {blank} 1821 against William Alexander Senr. deceased. Reissue of an unsatisfied execution dated 21 Nov 1820 for the sum of one dollar and twenty nine cents awarded to John Combs administrator of William Combs deceased on 31 Jul 1819 plus one dollar and twenty cents in costs. Levied against the lands of the heirs of William Alexander deceased on Alligator Lake adjoining the lands of Abraham Vanhorn.

Summons dated 29 Sep 1823 for the heirs of William Alexander deceased, to wit, William Alexander, Esther Alexander & Siney Alexander to appear at the next court to show cause why the land they inherited from William Alexander deceased should not be sold to satisfy a judgement against him. Judgement was in favor of John Combs administrator of William Combs deceased for one dollar and twenty nine cents with interest from 31 Jul 1819, plus one dollar and sixty cents in costs and minus eighty one and three quarters cents already levied on the lands and cypress swamp of the heirs of William Alexander deceased lying on Alligator Lake joining the lands of Abraham Vaughn.

Summons on the 4th Monday of October 1824 for William Alexander, Esther Alexander & Joseph Cantricks and wife, heirs of William Alexander deceased to appear at the next court and show cause, if any, why execution should not proceed against the lands they inherited from William Alexander.

Execution dated the fourth Monday of October 1826 and issued 1 Dec 1826 against the heirs of William Alexander deceased in favor of the administrator of William Combs deceased. Land and cypress swamp on Alligator Lake joining Abraham Vanhorn is to be sold to satisfy a judgement of one dollar and twenty nine cents plus interest from 31 Jul 1819 and court costs of eleven dollars and thirty seven cents. Sale on 23 Jan 1827 realized one dollar with nothing more to be had.

There are several more executions in 1824 and 1825 that are similar and do not add to the above information.


Transcriber's Notes:
Tyrrell County marriage bonds show the marriage of Mourning Alexander to Joseph Condrick on 11 Apr 1814, Fredererick Owens security. This must have been an earlier wife of Joseph Condrick, since estate papers indicate he would have married Siney Alexander about 1824.
