In the name of God amen: I John Alaxander of the County of Tyrell and State of North Carolina do this the 22d day of February 1812 make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in the manner and form following

Item - I give to my daughter Clarkey Owens one negro woman named Jean one boy James one girl Jude now in her own possession and the one half of a negro girl named Hetter with two beds and furniture two cows & calves one of them in her own possessic two chests one hunting saddle that was her aunts one gallon bason one five quart do one ewe and lamb one stock of bees three good chairs one wooling wheel half the wearing harness & $40 in money -

Item - I give to my daughter Ede McClece my right of the land and marsh lying on the west side of the great shoal with one negro girl named Thana now in her own possession one girl child one boy named Sam and one half of a negro girl named Hetter the other half of Hetter I have given to Clarkey Owens one bed and furniture two linen wheels one side saddle one woolen wheel to cows and calves one of them in her own possession one ewe and lamb one stock of bees three good chairs one small trunk one chest one five quart bason one dish 6 silver teaspoons half the wearing harness and forty dollars in money.

I give to my son Frederic Alaxander my plantation whereon I now live and my sound side plantation known by the name of the paretree orchard with all my woodland belonging to me agreeable to deeds and rights with one negroe boy named Jack and one negro woman named Easte one bed and furniture three guns one whip saw one cross cut saw one hand saw and all my farming tools one new mans saddle one desk and one hand mill and $4O in money & all the rest of my estate I have to be sold at six months oredit at the discretion of my executors and the money arisitg from said sale to be equally divided between my three children Clarkey Owens Ede MoClece Fred Alaxander. I also constitute and appoint my friend Jesse Alaxander my son Frederic Alaxander & Joseph McClece executors of this my last Will and Testament do utterlyrevo all and every other Will and Testament this and no other to be my last Will and I Testament in witness I have hereunto set my hand & Seal they day and year above written Signed Sealed & Delived. in presence of us
