In the name of God amen: The 17 of January 1763 I William Alexander of the Province of North Carolina in the County of Tyrrell Husbandman being sick and weak in body but of perfict mind and memory thanks be to God for therefore calling unto mind the mortality of my body knowing that it is appointed for all men once to dye do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament that is to say principally first of all I give and recommend my sold into the hands of God that give it and my body I recommend to ye Earth Christain burial at the Dis Chrisron of my Ext. Nothing D but at the general Recttion I shall receive the same again by the mighty power of God and as touching such worldly Estate where with it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of the same in the following manner and form.

Imprimis - I give and bequeath to my loving son Thomas Alexander my plantation where one I live with seventy five acres joying to it I give and bequeath to my loving son Thomas Alexander one negro girl called Dyner one small bored gun one heffer one I give and bequeath my loving son Joseph Alexander severty five acres of land at the uper end and I give and bequeath unto my son Joseph Alexander one negro girl called Plessen one gun one heffer my land at Second Creek to be divided between my son Thomas and my son Joseph and all the remaining part of my Estate to my well beloved wife Susanna Alexander during her widdowhood with Joseph Alexander to be my hole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year above ritten Signed sealed in the presence of us.

March Session 1764

Personally appeared Mickel Alexander and proved the last will and testimoney of William Alexander deceased and on his oath saith he was of sound mind & disposing memory & at the same time he saw Thaophelus Mann and other witness subscribe his name.

Personally appeared Susanner Alexander and qualified admr. of the last will and testament of William Alexander deseased copy of sd. will an {unreadable}.

Personally appeared Susanner Alexander widow of William Alexander deceased & executrix mentioned in the will of the sd. William & exhibited an inventory of all the goods & chattells as have come to her hand and possession & proved the same on oath.

March Session 1765

On motion of John Johnston in behalf of Susanah Alexander for administration on the estate of Joseph Alexander deceased son of William Alexander deceased be granted unto Susanah Alexander mother of the sd. Joseph & enters Isaac Hassell & Peter Wynne securities in the sum of 500 pounds.

On motion of Mr. John Johnston in behalf of Susanah Alexander for administration on the estate of Thomas Alexander deceased son of William Alexander deceased be granted unto the sd. Susanah Alexander mother of the sd. Thomas & enter security Peter Wynne & Isaac Hassell in the sum of 500 pounds.
