In the name of God amen: The twelf day of Agust I Richard Addison of Scuppernon in ye presink of Chowan and in ye provinc of North Carolina planter being very sick and weak in body but of perfect mind and memory thanks be given unto God therefore calling unto mind ye mortality of my body and knowing it is apinted for all men onse to dye dow make and ordain this my last will and testiment that is to say principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into ye hands of God that gave it and my body I recommend to ye earth to be buried in decent Christian burial at ye discretion of my executor nothing doubting that at ye General Resurrection I shall receive ye same again by ye mighty power of God and as touching my worldly estate wheare with it hath plesed God to bless me in this life I give demise and dispose of ye same following maner and form.

Imprimis I give and bequeath to Sarah my dearly beloved wife ye plantation wheare on I now live with all other lands and moveable estate whom I likewise constitute make and ordain sole executrix of this my last will and testament by her frely to be possessed and enjoyed and I dow hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul all and every other former testaments wills legacies and bequests by me in any waise before named willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal ye day and year above writen.
