Millie Baynard Obituary

Millie Simpson Baynard, 87, of Capps Road died Saturday i a Shelby care center after a period of declining health.

A lifelong resident of Transylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Mary Jane McKinney Simpson and the wife of the late William Marson Baynard.

Surviving are three daughters, Evelyn B. Sitton of Pisgah Forest, Thelma Lyda and Marie Orr of Pisgah Forest; two sons, Leora Baynard of Brevard and Wilbren Baynard of Pisgah Forest, 19 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Turkey Creek Baptist Church, of which she was a member. The Revs. Earl Payne and Tommy Owen will officiate. Burial will be in Boyleston Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Moore Funeral Home, where the body will remain until placed in the church 30 minutes before the services.
