Transylvania County wills
are located at the Clerk of
Courts Office in Brevard, North Carolina. "Will
Book 1" isn't exactly. This is a narrow
folder with photocopied records from an unknown
source provided by North Carolina State
Archives. Despite its odd appearance, it
is indexed along with the more traditional will
books. Finding it is difficult at best.
Sometimes you can find it on top of the cabinet
holding the remainder of the older record books
for the county. Sometimes you can't find
it. Fortunately, the wills contained in
it have been transcribed by Philip
Underwood-Sheppard and are included
here.
