This Indenture made the
Seventeen day of July in the year of our Lord
one Thousand Eight hundred & seven between
Reuben Johnson of Buncombe County and State of
North Carolina of the one part and Thos. Jordan
of the County & state aforesaid of theother
part Witnesseth that for and in consideration
of the Sum of three hundred & Eighteen
dollars to me in hand paid by Thos. Jordan at
or before the sealing and delivering of these
presents the Receipt whereof I doth acknowledge
and therefore doth Release Acquit and discharge
the said Thos. Jordan his Executors and
administrators by these presents he the said
Reuben Johnson hath Granted Bargained Sold
alien and Confirm and by these presents doth
Grant Bargain Sell Alien and Confirm unto the
said Thos. Jordan his heirs a certain peice or
parcel of Land Situate lying and being in the
county of Buncombe and State aforesaid
containing one hundred & fifty acres be the
same more or less Bounded as followeth Begining
on the Top of the Ridge Next James Erwins on a
marked pine Tree on French broad river thence
runing North a new markt line on the Ridge to
Reuben Johnsons line thence along the same East
to a corner thence Runing South on Walter
Hogheads line to the said french Broad river
thence up the River as it meanders to the
Begining with all houses Building orchards,
ways waters water-courses, profits commodities
hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever to
the said premises belonging or anywise
appertaining and the Reversion and Reversions,
Remainder and Remainders Rents Issues profits
thereof and also all the Estate right Tittle
Interest use Trust and profits Calim and demand
whatsoever of him the said Reuben Jonson his
heirs Executors administrators of and to the
said premises and all Deeds Evidences Touching
or in anywise Concerning the same to have and
to hold the said tract or parcel of Land with
all and singular the appurtenances thereunto
belonging to him the said Thos. Jordan his
heirs Executors administrators forever and the
said Reuben Johnson doth Covenant and agree
with Thos. Jordan that the said Reuben Johnson
his heirs etc. are seized of a good sure
perfect indefeasible Estate of inheritance in
fee simple of and in the Premises hereby
Granted and sold and that he hath the full
power & lawfull and absolute authority to
Grant and Convey the same to the said Thos.
Jordan his heirs Executors, administrators as
aforesaid and he the said Reuben Johnson his
heirs Executors administrators will forever
warrant and defend against the claim or claims
of any persons whatsoever in witness whereof
the said Reuben Johnson hath hereunto set his
hand and fixt his seal the day and year above
written Delivered in the presence of
