 Owens Siniard Deed

This Indenture made this 23rd day of April One Thousand eight hundred & Thirty Three
between Jonathan Siniard of the County of Buncombe and John Owens of the
County of Haywood both of the State of No. Carolina. Witnesseth that for and in consideration
of the sum of One hundred and fifty dollars to me in hand paid the receipt whereof I
do hereby acknowledge, I this day have bargained & sold & confirmed unto the said
John Owens his heirs & assigns forever a certain piece or parcel of land lying and
being in the County of Haywood and State of No. Carolina containing fifty two & a
half acres Section No. S9 in District No. 18 bounded as follows viz: Beginning at a
White Oak in the gap near William Tramels improvement, thence North ten East nineteen
poles to a Spanish Oak, then N. 74 W. 58 poles to a Spanish Oak,
thence South seventy three West thirty six poles to a white oak, thence
South seventy two West seventy poles to a small hickory, Thence South ten West eighteen
poles to a small hickory on the bank of the West fork of French Broad river, thence South
Thirty three West twenty two poles crossing said fork to a white oak, then South seventeen East
forty poles to a maple, then East fifty six poles to three cucumber tree on the River bank,
then North eighty East forty one poles with the River to three cherry trees, thence North
seventy eight East sixty six poles to the place of beginning. To have and to hold the
said piece or parcel of land with all ways, woods, waters & every other apperten-
ance thereunto belonging or appertaining to the said John Owens his heirs & assigns
forever in fee-simple, and for my self & for my heirs, executors & administrators. I
shall & will warrant & forever defend the said piece or parcel of land with all & [ever?]
of its members & appurtenances free from all lawful claims of any person or persons,
whatsoever unto the said John Owens his heirs or assigns forever, given under our
hands and seals the day and date first above written

State of No. Carolina }  Court of please & quarter session June session 1833. The within deed
Haywood County       } was acknowledged in open Court, recorded & ordered to be registered.
 Certified the 3rd of September 1833.
