Rutherford Vet Taken By Death Rutherfordton, May 9- WILLIAM M. NANNEY , 90, last surviving Confederate veteran in Rutherford county, died this morning at 7 o'clock at the home of his daughter, MRS. J.D. MORRIS in Spindale with whom he lived. He had been ill several months.

Funeral services will be held at the Round Hill Baptist church, Union Mills, Monday at 11 a.m. Daughters of the Confederacy of Forest City and Rutherfordton will have charge of the flowers.

MR. NANNEY is survived by one daughter, MRS. MORRIS, 16 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. His wife died June, 1935. He was born and reared in Rutherford county and was a deacon of the church for about a half century.
