ANOTHER RAID

January 27, 1864 Issue of the WEEKLY STANDARD (Raleigh, North Carolina)
Transcribed and Posted by Myrtle Bridges February 20, 2003

A few days since, four women, living in the neighborhood of Morven, proceeded with horse and wagon,
a short distance below that place, to a house in which Mr. Rufus Liles had some corn and wheat. They
forced the lock, and went in and helped themselves to corn and wheat, taking as much as their horse
could well draw.-Two of these women are married. Their husbands work in the gun factory. The other
two are unmarried. As it is probable that the matter will undergo legal investigation, we forbear
comment. Wadesboro' Argus
