From Kennith McInnis to James Hatcher, written 1828, registered 1830:

This Indenture made this the 2 day of December in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred & twenty 
eight Between Kenneth McInnis of the County of Richmond in the State of North Carolina of the one part & 
James Hatcher of the county & state aforesaid of the other part Witnesseth that he the said Kenneth McInnis 
for & in consideration of the sum of Three Hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said James Hatcher, 
the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have bargained sold & delivered & by these presents do sell bargain, 
deliver alein, enfeoff convey & confirm unto the said James Hatcher, a Certain piece or parcel of land situated 
in said County in manner & form as follows - Beginning at a pine on the North side of Marks creek standing 
within twenty yards of the edge of the Marsh in the Fork between the Horse Pen branch & said creek below 
Baggets old field & runs South thirteen degrees East 3 Ch & 50 links to a stake then [No.] fifty four degrees 
East forty one chains to a stake, then No 16 W 20 Chs & 25 links to a stake - then No thirty eight degrees 
East Seven Chains & 75 links to a stake - then No twenty degrees West twenty three chains & 25 links to the 
said Kenneth McInnis line, then with & as said line South 65 degrees west thirty seven chains & 78 links to 
a Blaze Pine on the ....... then to the beginning South thirteen degrees east 52 chains containing more or 
less two Hundred acres with all ways, woods minerals, production thereto belonging To have & to hold unto the 
said James Hatcher his Heirs & assigns forever & he the said Kenneth McInnis for himself his Heirs & assigns 
do warrant & shall forever defend the said premises free from all claims of person or persons unto the said 
James Hatcher his Heirs & assigns. In witness whereof he has hereunto set his hand & seal day & date above 
mentioned - In the presence of us John McInnis  Daniel Cameron  & Kenneth McInnis (seal)

Richmond Co, NC deeds: From Kennith McInnis to Peter Hatcher & George Cooper written 1838, registered 1852, 55A/$55 (copy of original) This Indenture made the 14th day of March in the year 1838 between Kenneth McInnis of the one part and George Cooper and Peter Hatcher of the other part Witnesseth that the said Kenneth McInnis for and in consideration of the sum of one Hundred and Ten dollars to him in hand paid by the said George Cooper and Peter Hatcher at and before the sealing & delivering of these presents the receipt and payment whereof is herely acknowledged doth for himself and his heirs hereby bargain sell alien enfeoff and convey unto the said George Cooper and Peter Hatcher and their Heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcell of land situated in Richmond County North Carolina Beginning at a small pine standing in the last line but one of a tract of land conveyed in the third day of May 1810 by Rosa Harrington to the said Kenneth McInnis it being James Hatchers corner of land bought of said McInnis ....... thence with the said line ?esso across Milsons branch to a stake by a large pine in McCarkills line thence with his line south ....hty degrees East Twelve chains to his corner thence with his other line North Seventy East to his spring branch thence down the various courses of the swamp of said branch and down the various courses of the swamp of Marks creek to James Hatchers corner so as not to include any part of the swamp of said branch or of said creek in this conveyance and thence with the said James Hatchers line to the Beginning Containing fifty five acres more or less to have and to hold the said cescribed fifty five acres of land unto the said George Cooper and Peter Hatcher and their Heirs and assigns forever And the said Kenneth McInnis doth by these presents bind himself and his heirs Executors & administrators to warrant and forever defend all the said discribed fifty five acres of land & premises and appertenances against the claim of all persons whatsoever unto the said George Cooper and Peter Hatcher and their Heirs and assigns In witness whereof the said Kenneth McInnis doth hereunto set his hand and seal the date first above written Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Kenneth McInnis (seal) Daniel McInnis Mary McInnis State of North Carolina } Court of Pleas & quarter Sessions Richmond County } January Term 1852 The foregoing deed from Kenneth McInnis to George Cooper and Peter Hatcher is admitted to Probate upon the oath of John McInnis who proves the handwriting of Daniel McInnis and Mary McInnis the subscribing witnesses thereto one of said witnesses to wit Daniel McInnis being dead and the other ti wit Mary McInnis having left this state ordered to be Registered Witness M L Douglass C Clk
From Peter Hatcher (of MarlboroughCo, SC) to George Cooper, written 1843, registered 1851, 55A/$55 (copy of original) This Indenture made this nineteenth day of June in the year of Our Lord one Thousand Eight Hundred and forty three Between Peter Hatcher of the district of Marlbourough and the state of South Carolina of the one part and George Cooper of the county of Richmond and state of North Carolina of the other part Witnesseth that the said Peter Hatcher for and in consideration of the sum of fifty five Dollars to him in hand paid at and before the sealing signing and delivery of these presents the receipt of which payment is hereby fully acknowledged I the said Peter Hatcher do for myself my heirs Executors and assigns acquit and release unto the said George Cooper his heirs Executors and assigns forever all the right title claim and intrest which I have to a certain tract of Land Containing firty five acres lying on the North side of Marks Creek joining the lands of James Hatcher.
