Will of Duncan McBryde - 1812

In the name of God amen I Duncan McBryde of Richmond County & State of North Carolina being in perfect mind 
and memory and solid judgement do make this my last will and testament in manner and form as followeth.

First and principally I give my soul to almighty God who gave it and my body to the Earth to receive a decent 
and Christian burial at the discretion of my ------------ hereafter named in hopes of a glorious resurrection 
of the day through the merrit of my blessed Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Item I give and bequeath to beloved son Malcom McBryde one English shilling to him his heirs and assigns 
forever.

Item I give and bequeath to beloved son Dougld McBryde one English shilling to him his heirs and assigns 
forever.

Item I give and bequeath to beloved son Archibald McBryde one English shilling to him his assigns forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my beloved sons Duncan McBryde and Neill McBryde the Plantation whereon I now 
dwell containing five hundred acres of land to their heirs and assigns forever.

Item I bequeath my beloved son John McBryde one hundred dollars out of the aforesaid plantation to him his 
heirs and assigns forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter Mary two cows and their calf's to her heirs and assigns 
forever.

Item I give and bequeath to my beloved wife Mary McBryde and beloved daughter Margaret McBryde ------------
a beloved daughter Mary McBryde aforesaid that the said mention persons shall receive equal shares of all 
my movable property except one mare and her colt that I bequeath to my beloved wife Mary her heirs and 
assigns forever.

I do hereby nominate and appoint Mary McBryde my wife and Malcom McBryde whole and sole executors of my 
last will and testament in witness whereof I here onto set my hand and affixed my seal this the first day 
of May A.D. one thousand eight hundred and twelve.
