1.  UNKNOWN1 NORTON  He married ELIZABETH.  She was born 1794 in NC.

Notes for ELIZABETH:
All six of Elizabeth's children appear in the (1840) list of children in the 16th school district 
of Richmond County, NC. Ages of 'scholars' are said to be over 5 and under 21 yrs. of age. This 
year Duncan C. Wright, John K. Gibson and William Graham were the Committee members for this district.

By 1850 Elizabeth Norton 56, and her children are in Lexington, Holmes County, Mississippi. Wm. Burns 54, 
b. NC, is next door. It is not known if there is a kinship with Elizabeth & Wm.. However,  One William 
Burnes, d. 1826 in Richmond County, NC. on 17th January 1826, Thorogood Pate obtained letters of 
administration on Burnes' estate.  Thorogood Pate has long been associated with the Norton family of

In 1850, Holmes County, Mississippi. W(ade) H(ampton) Norton 18, b. NC, is living with Reason Burns 25, 
b. Miss. Daniel Flether 45, raftsman, b. Norway is also in this household.

In 1860 W. H. Norton 24, Overseer, b. NC was living in the household of J. B. Clark, 30, Overseer, b. NC, 
and Minerva Clark 25, b. MS; Alice Clark 5, b MS; Emmet Clark 2, b. MS. (Possibly Wade Hampton Norton, 
even though the age is incorrect)

	vi.	MARY NORTON, b. 1835, Richmond County, NC.

2.  JAMES B.2 NORTON (UNKNOWN1) was born 1823 in Richmond County, NC.  He married MARY Abt. 1847.  She 
was born 1826 in NC.

Notes for JAMES B. NORTON:
James Norton 30, b. NC, and wife Mary 27, b. SC, and daughter Laura J. 1 yr, are in Leake County, MS in 
1850. Their next door neighbor, Joseph Whitehead 46, farmer, is also from NC.

James and his family are found in Scott County, Miss. in 1860-1870.

3.  WADE HAMPTON3 NORTON (JAMES B.2, UNKNOWN1) was born 1854 in MS.  He married MARY A..  She was born 
1861 in MS.
Child of WADE NORTON and MARY A. is:
	i.	J. M.4 NORTON, b. 1878.

4.  WILLIAM LOUIS3 NORTON (JAMES B.2, UNKNOWN1) was born January 1869 in MS, and died Aft. 1920.  He 
married EMMA 1890.  She was born October 1872 in MS, and died Bet. 1905 - 1920 in Scott County, MS.

William Norton 51, wid. was in Scott County, Mississippi in 1920. Wade H. Norton 15, son, is also shown 
in this household.

Notes for EMMA:
By 1900 Emma had given birth to 3 children. Only 1 child  living in 1900.  Emily Winstead 57, b. Jan 1843 
&  and James T. Winstead 17, b. Aug 1882 live next door to Wm. & Emma Norton. Possibly Emma's mother and
