       We learn that GOVERNOR ALEXANDER has appointed BRIGADIER GENERAL BENJAMIN 
    of Brunswick, Adjutant General of the militia of this state – an office 
    created by the late act of the legislature to revise the Militia laws relative 
    to the infantry.
        RICHARD EVANS, ESQ., for Pitt; JOSEPH JOHN SUMNER, ESQ., for Edgecombe; 
    JOSEPH WILLIAMS, JR., ESQ. for Surry; and WILLIAM SNEED, ESQ. for Granville, 
    are appointed Clerks of the Superior court.
