The Outer Banks History Center The Outer Banks History Center is a regional archives and research library administered by the North Carolina State Archives located across from the Manteo waterfront within the Roanoke Island Festival Park complex. The center is open to the public and most services are free. Hours are 9-6, Monday - Friday, except state holidays. The center's collections encompass all aspects of local history, primary and published, in all formats. Family history resources include public records (print and microfilm), reference works, small press runs and privately researched local histories, personal papers, diaries, photographs, maps, and family history files.
