William Amos Ireland House

This two-story house with an L-shaped plan and a wrap around porch is located on the adjacent lot west of the Barnett Cemetery on Hwy 304 in Hobucken.  The house was built about 1900 for [William] Amos Ireland (1880-1971), son of Noah W. Ireland, Jr. and Martha Barnett, and his wife, Julia Goodwin (1881-1952), daughter of Lewis Goodwin and Julia Frances Spain.  This house was later occupied by Sam Williamson (1879-1960) and his wife, Ella Mae Ireland Williamson (1889-1978).  Martha Ireland Sadler, daughter of Amos and Julia Ireland, and her husband, Mitchel Sadler, later occupied this house.  [Wm. Amos & Julia Ireland's tombstones can be seen here.]
