WHITEHURST / TAYLOR

John C. Whitehurst March 03, 2007

My grandfather, Collin Batson WHITEHURST, Sr., was born in Aurora, according to his obituary in the Cincinnati, Ohio, papers at the time of his death in May 1947. His father's name was John Batson WHITEHURST. So far, so good. I have found online a WHITEHURST genealogy that terminates with John Batson WHITEHURST and his wife Martha TAYLOR who lived in Aurora. The problem is that their son born is 1888 is listed as "Carl".  I know that my father and grandfather were both called Carl in the family, as Big Carl and Little Carl. Unfortunately, my father had no siblings and was Killed in Action in October 1944 in the Pacific. Any suggestions you may have to help me further would be appreciated. Is there any repository of obituaries in Beaufort County? I will be in the area in about five weeks.
