1. JAMES4 HORN, JR. (JAMES BARTON3, THOMAS2, WILLIAM1) was born 1784 in NC, and died March 07, 1863 in McNairy Co., TN. He married ELIZABETH REDDING April 04, 1810 in Orange Co., NC, daughter of THOMAS REDDING and MARY HOLLOWAY.

Notes for STEPHEN HORN:
1850 census, Stephen lived with his cousin, David Redding and his family in McNairy Co., TN. He served with the 6th TN Calvary in the Union Army as did David and James.
He died in 1869 leaving no apparent heirs. (Adm. Book page 510, dated Dec. 6, 1869. Last will and testament of Stephen Horn, produced and executed proven by Moses WYATT, Park SMITH and J.P. MITCHELL, witnesses. His McNairy Co., TN will leaves his property to his sister, Mary Ann (25.00) and brother, David, 95 acres where J.R. Horn now lives bought from R.W. COFFEE, personal property including hogs, notes, money, bedstead bed and all other household furniture and all else dated Nov. 8, 1869.  Burial place is unknown.

The family story is that the Forsythe woman left William Riley on the doorstep of John and Nancy with a note for John to "raise your own kid".
