William D. Elliott, age 89 of Wilmington died on Friday, May 30, 2008.
He was born in McColl, SC on August 10, 1918. He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Pruitt Elliott and a son, William D. Elliott, Jr. Mr. Elliott was a proud veteran of the US Marine Corps and US Army. He was retired from Timme Corp. as a mechanic. He is survived by his son, Rodney 'Drake' Elliott of Wilmington; three grandchildren; and a sister, Vashty Cumber of Hartsville, SC.
A graveside service will be held 2 pm Tuesday, June 3, 2008, in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Sophie Shull Mungo, of Wilmington, died Saturday, May 31, 2008, at Mariner Health Care.
She was born in West Columbia, SC, March 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Charlie and Grace Shealy Shull. She was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Carroll Mungo and their son Rick Mungo.
She is survived by three sons, Wayne and wife Sheila of Carolina Beach, Bruce and wife Donna of Louisville, KY, and David of Bryn Mawr, PA; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and her nieces Joan and Janet.
The funeral service will be held at 1 PM , Tuesday, June 2, 2008, at Andrews Valley Chapel. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church or to the American Diabetes Association.

Mrs. Sallie Belle Carter Peterson, age 90, of 1146 Bulltail Road, Harrells, died Friday May 30, 2008, at Mary Gran Nursing Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be Sunday June 1, at 3:00 pm at Wells Chapel Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Benjamin Taylor and Rev. Stan Jenkins. Burial will follow in Wells Chapel Church Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Maxine Thomas and husband Don and Mrs. Iris James and husband Cary, both of Harrells; one son, Billy L. Peterson and wife Linda of Harrells; one sister, Mrs. Thomasine Benton of Raleigh; and one brother, G.W. Carter of Clinton; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
A native of Sampson County, Mrs. Peterson was the daughter of the late Ossie Lee and Nellie Fryar Carter. She was also preceded in death by her husband Lewis Bryant Peterson and a brother Elbert Carter.
The family will receive at the church Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will be at Mrs. Peterson's residence other times.

Robert Osborne Stone, Jr., 66, of Southport, NC, died May 30, 2008 at Huntington Health Care, Burgaw, NC.
Robert was born August 31, 1941, in Laurinburg, NC, the son of the late Robert Osborne Stone, Sr. and Olshna Evans Stone.
Robert served in the US Army, 1963-70 and was in Army intelligence. He served in Viet- Nam 1968-69. He was formerly employed at CP&L and had been employed with RAMCO Oils, Jedda, Saudi Arabia.
Robert is survived by two sons; Robert Osborne Stone, III and his wife Kelly and James Stone and his wife Janice. He is also survived by five grandchildren; Christian, Dylan, Morgan, Mekenzie, and Kennedy.
A memorial service will be held at 4PM Tuesday at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, 603 Ocean Hwy (Route 17), Supply, NC.

Wilbur Hoover Caison, 78, of Leland, died May 31, 2008, at Brunswick Cove Nursing Center.
Wilbur was born November 22, 1929, in Columbus County, NC, the son of the late Joel Preston Caison and Nettie Carroll Caison. He was also preceded in death by two brothers; Herbert Caison and Joseph Caison and a sister, Ruby Bowen. Wilbur was a brick mason and loved the outdoors and especially fishing.
Wilbur is survived by a sister, Margaret Caison, NC; and a brother, Harris Caison, SC; a daughter, Karen Caison and many nieces and nephews.

Joyce Hobbs Lewis passed away June 1, 2008. She was born October 29, 1925, and was devoted wife and loving mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Her sense of humor and love touched all those that were blessed to have
had her in their life. Her Christian values and beliefs were prominent in her life as she extended a hand of kindness and friendship to all, leaving a legacy of warmth and love.
She is survived by her husband, Benjamin L. Lewis; son, L.L. 'Sandy' Wright and wife Linda; grandsons, Chad Wright, Brett (Leigh Ann) Wright, Harrison Wright, and Rory Park; granddaughters, Tiffany (Ross) Cook and Cameron Park; great-grandson, Carter Cook; former daughter-in-laws, Vikki (Gregg) Park, Sylvia (Bill) Zaun. stepson, Dr. Donald (Dutchy) Lewis; brother, Robert (Freddie) Hobbs; sisters-in-law, Dill Hobbs, Francis Long, Hettie Carter and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by a son, Edward Hobbs Wright, brothers, Edward Lee Hobbs, William K. Hobbs, Wallace B. Carter, J. Houston Carter and Charles Long, Jr., and nephew William K. Hobbs, III.

SOUTHPORT - Mrs. Hazel Hendrick Stephenson, 85, of Southport, NC, died Saturday May 31, 2008, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Stephenson was born in Moore County, NC, on February 23, 1923, and was the daughter of the late Roy and Lois Keller Hendrick. She was the wife of the late Stancil Stephenson and was also preceded in death by her sibling family, Carl, Arthur and Ralph.
Hazel was a member of Southport Baptist Church. She was a former member of Oak Island Presbyterian Church where she served as Elder and was also served as a Stephen Minister. She was employed with Bald Head Island Corporation.
Mrs. Stephenson leaves among us her children, Barbara Edwards and husband Joe, Dawn Morrison and husband Doug, all of Southport, Carl Dennis 'Buddy' Stephenson and wife Ann of Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren and nine great -grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday June 3, 2008, at 11 am at Southport Baptist Church with Reverend Bill Fryar and Reverend Michael Ward officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 pm at the Johnson Grove Cemetery, Vass, NC.
Mrs. Stephenson grandson's will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 Monday evening at the funeral home.

Dr. Benjamin B. Ward, 80, of Shallotte, died May 31, 2008, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Longwood, NC, on December 27, 1927, a son of John Butler Ward and Rosa Bennett Ward. He was preceded in death by his co-worker and wife of 52 years, Jamie Boyd Ward and was fortunate to find love again with his second wife, Nancy Jarman Ward. He was also predeceased by an infant son Bennie Brooks Ward, Jr., and a brother, J. B. Ward.
He was a veteran of the US Army and served a tour of duty in the Korean War. A physician for over 50 years, he cared for the citizens of Shallotte and surrounding area as a practitioner of General Medicine. He was also one of the founding designers and developers of Brierwood Golf Club, established in Shallotte in 1969.
He is survived by three sisters and one brother: Pauline Everett of Wilmington, Muriel Bennett of Ash, Mae Brooks of Oakboro, NC and Willie Ward of Ash. He is also survived by one son and two daughters: David B. Ward, Tammy Ward Lane and husband, Chris, and Wendy Ward Milazzo and husband, Randy, of Shallotte.
In addition he is survived by a stepson and stepdaughter, Kenny Johnson and wife, Jennifer, of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Kelli Johnson of Wilmington. He leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Tucker Ward, Brooke, Blair, and Gavin Lane, Ben, Jillian, and Daniel Milazzo, Paige Lane Jernigan, Randy, Jr. and Jessica Milazzo, and Zac Johnson.
Visitation will be from 7-9 PM, Monday, June 2, 2008, at Brunswick Funeral Service, Shallotte. A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Camp United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Ward Family Cemetery.

Edward R. 'Ted' Blake, Jr. – On the beautiful, Sunday morning of June 1, 2008, the angels of the Lord came to Ted with wings from heaven and flew him Home. After a lengthy hospitalization, Ted was admitted to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home where he was allowed to meet his Creator in peace, comfort and dignity with his family
at his side. Ted was born on October 8, 1932 in Wilmington, NC to Ed and Mary Blake.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Eddie Blake who made his home with his family in Wilmington; and grandson, Jon Patten. Ted is survived by the love of his life and wife of over 50 years, Patty Burriss Blake; daughter, Carol Patten (Walt) of Fort Lauderdale, son L.D. Blake (Lynne) of Wynne, Arkansas; and daughter-in-law, Rebecca Blake of Wilmington. His grandchildren include Blake Patten (Denver), Brittany and Lauren Blake (Wynne) and Teddy, Robert and Mary Grace Blake of Wilmington. Ted is also
survived by his sister, Margaret Blake Hertz (San Jose, CA) a brother, Robert Blake (Denver); sister-in-law Virginia Price, brothers-in-law, Phillip and Thomas Burriss, all of Wilmington.
After serving twenty-one years in the Air Force, including service in Viet Nam, Ted retired from the military and moved his young family to Winston-Salem where he attended Piedmont Aviation Institute and obtained his Airframe and Power Plant Certification. In 1971, he became an A&P instructor for Piedmont Aviation. Ted retired a second time in 1990 from Piedmont Airlines where he had worked as an A&P technician.
Ted's family and friends knew him as a kind, loving and caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was dedicated to his family and church family at Oak Forest United Methodist Church through which he and his wife served as volunteers for the Meals on Wheels program in Davidson County. Ted loved being outdoors and for many years had a passion for flying, including aerobatic flying. He was an avid golfer, enjoyed tennis and running and was constantly working with his hands. He built a 'working' experimental airplane, many remote controlled airplanes and sailplanes. Ted's love of airplanes and flying is shared by his son, L.D. Even after his body became ravaged with rheumatoid arthritis, he continued to work with his hands building several wooden row boats and continued enjoying the outdoors by sailing and kayaking. He loved being on and near the water and all the activities associated with sailing and working on his boat. His love of boating was shared with his son, Eddie, and many friends.
Ted will be greatly missed and always loved by his family and friends.
Donations in Ted's memory may be made to the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane in Winston-Salem or to the Family Life Center Building Fund of the Oak Forest United Methodist Church, 11461 Old U.S. Highway 52, Winston-Salem.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Oak Forrest United Methodist Church at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Jacqueline Tookey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Davidson Funeral Home, Hickory Tree Chapel.

Charles G. 'Chuck' Collins of Leland passed away on Sunday, June 1st at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. He was 67 years old.
Mr. Collins was born on Palm Sunday, April 6, 1941 in Norristown, PA to the late Charles Henry and Margaret Berosh Collins. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Raymond. He is survived by Nancy, his wife of 35 years, of Leland; son John, daughter-in-law Amy and granddaughter Jenna, all of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Marie Collins of Geneva, NY; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Collins was raised in the borough of Bridgeport in Montgomery County, PA. He was a 1959 graduate of Bridgeport High School, and a 1962 graduate of The Williamson Free School of Mechanical Trades in Media, PA. He was employed by the Babcock & Wilcox Company for 34 years, retiring as National Sales Manager.
Mr. Collins was an active member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Wilmington, and previously at Mt. Zion United Methodist in Cornelius, NC. He was an Assistant Scoutmaster with Boy Scout Troop 72 in Cornelius and enjoyed golfing, boating, and time spent with family and friends. He was a wonderful husband and father, and a doting and beloved 'Pops' to his granddaughter Jenna. The smile on his face, his cheerful whistle, and optimistic zest for life will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A celebration of Chuck's life will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 12 North Sixth Street in Wilmington, on Wednesday afternoon June 4th at 3 pm.

TARBORO – David Hope Craig, aged 100, died May 31, 2008, in Tarboro, NC. He was born February 6, 1908 in Wilmington, NC, the son of William Gaston Craig and Sarah Brown Craig. He retired in 1973 from the Seaboard Coast Line Railroad after over 40 years of service in the timekeeping and accounting departments and the board of directors of the SCL credit union. A lifelong Presbyterian, he served as deacon and elder at St Andrews-Covenant church in Wilmington, NC and as elder at First Presbyterian church in Jacksonville, FL. He resided in Wilmington, NC from his birth until 1960; in Jacksonville, FL from 1960 until 1988; in Orlando, FL from 1988 until 2006; and at the Fountains Sunrise Community in Tarboro from 2006 until his death. A memorial service will be held Friday, June 6 at 2:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, Washington, NC, The Rev. Dr. William L. Hufham officiating. Mr. Craig is survived by his daughter, Sara Craig Hufham, granddaughter Elisabeth Hufham Bentley, grandson William L. Hufham, Jr., great-grandson David Crane, and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Juanita Whitworth Craig, by his wife of 18 years, Anita Gautier Strauss Craig, and by 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff of The Fountains Sunrise Community of Tarboro for making the last years of David's life pleasant and comfortable ones.

ROSE HILL –- Shirley B. Jackson, 82, of Topsail Beach, NC passed away on Monday, June 2, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC.

Donald 'Craig' Littlejohn, 51, of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, June 1, 2008 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center. He was born in Kane Co., IL, on February 23, 1957, the son of Carol Wampach Littlejohn and the late Donald Calvin Littlejohn. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Preston Jack Drummond and a niece, Colleen Marie Regnier.
Craig loved the outdoors and fishing. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan. He was a member of the N.C. Chapter of the Wildlife Society, and also loved his dogs.
Craig had worked at the Amoco Research Center in Naperville, IL, Wright Chemicals in Riegelwood, NC as a Chemical Technician, and also at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet as a salesman. His recent employment was with Residential Elevators of Wilmington, NC. He never met a stranger in his entire life.
Surviving is his wife, Tracy Kim Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC; two daughters, Amanda Littlejohn Drummond (Brandon) of Temple, GA and Georgia Rae Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC; two sons,
Craig Neuenkirchen (Basha) of Burlington, NC and Jackson Calvin Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC; step-daughter, Marcia Silverberg (Ben) of Alpharetta, GA; five grandchildren, Dakota Donald Littlejohn, Alivia Raelynn Drummond, Talon, Romeo, and Kalai Littlejohn; his mother, Carol Wampach Littlejohn of North Aurora, IL; brother, Kim James Littlejohn (Tina); sister, Donna Regnier (Ralph) of Genoa City, WI.
A memorial service will be held at the residence, 235 Inlet Drive, Wilmington, NC at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 by Rev. John Porter. The ceremony will be informal, and following the service, friends are asked to join the family at Mako Restaurant in Scott's Hill. The family has a Shell Garden, and would like to invite friends to contribute shells for the garden in memory of Craig.

Dee Boozer passed away June 3, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
She was born in Waterbury, CT. on January 31, 1954, daughter of William and Mary Kaschak.
She is survived by her husband, J. Richard (Dick) Boozer. Mr. Van Hoyt Clark, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully at his residence, Monday, June 2, 2008, surrounded by his loved ones. He was the son of the late Lyon and Janie Clark. Mr. Clark is survived by his loving wife, Helen Klutz Clark, one son; V. Hoyt Clark, Jr. and wife Pennie Clark, of Wrightsboro, NC, one daughter; Lisa Ann Clark Wolfe and husband Thomas L. A life-long resident of Brunswick County, Veteran of the Korean Conflict, and Life-Time Member of American Legion Post 68, Mr. Clark was a respected member of the Leland community. A wonderful husband, father, and grandfather, he will be greatly missed, and always lovingly remembered.

Darwin 'Pete' Petersen, Col., US Army (Ret.), 76, of Hampstead, NC, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
He was born on September 18, 1931, in Ipswich, SD, the son of the late Alfred Jacob and Beulah Esther Davis Petersen. Darwin proudly served his country for twenty-six years in the US Army, retiring with the rank of Colonel in 1980. Awards during his Army Career include the Silver Star, Distinguished Flying Cross, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star with V device and an Oak Leaf Cluster (OLC), Meritorious Service Medal with 2 OLC and Purple Heart with OLC and several others. He was a master Army Aviator with over 3,000 hours of flying time.
After retirement from the Army he worked 18 years with BellSouth and Northern Telecom in the telecommunications field. Darwin was a member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, the Hampstead Lions Club, Knights of Columbus and the Military Officers Association of America.
Surviving is his wife, Rosemary Ann Petersen; three children, Scott Alfred Petersen and wife Linda of Cary, NC, Jacque Sue Petersen of Richmond, VA, and Kimberly Ann Petersen and husband Jeff Darragh of Scotts Hill, NC; two step grandchildren, Stephanie Alleyne and Christina Darragh; two step great grandchildren, April Smith and Christian Alleyne; two sisters, Shirley Raethz and Gleva Kitchell; one brother, Gorden Petersen; a special friend, Janet Phillips; and his beloved canine companion, 'Misty.'
A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 am Friday, June 6, 2008 at St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church with Rev. Terrence Collins officiating. Inurnment with military honors will be scheduled at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

Fred A. Pettygrove, 78 of Hampstead, passed away June 1, 2008 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice LifeCareCenter.
Fred was born September 1, 1929 in Twin Falls, Idaho to Alfred and Ella Meier Pettygrove.
Fred served in the Air Force in the Korean War and was a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University. He worked for IBM for 32 years in various technical and management positions. While with IBM he spent 3 years in South Africa working on banking networks.
He returned to the United States to work on developing the control segment of the Global Positioning Satellite System (GPS). He ended his career as Technical Sales Consultant for banking systems in the Far East and Latin America. Fred was an avid golfer and a member of Olde Pointe Country Club and Coastal Carolina Seniors. He was a member of Hampstead United Methodist Church and the Men's Association and the Coastal Carolina Walk to Emmaus.
Fred was preceded in death by his sisters Henrietta Turner and Isabella Russell and brothers George and Bill Pledger. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Glendora Parsons Pettygrove, children Mark Pettygrove, Rancho Mirage, CA and Scott Pettygrove and wife Susan, Roanoke, VA, grandchildren Matthew Pettygrove, Alexander Pettygrove and Jillian Pettygrove, sister Ann Glodowski, Reno, NV, and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, June 7, 2008 at Hampstead United Methodist Church where the family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00.

Henry Christopher Blake, II, 79, passed away peacefully with his family at his bedside on Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at Woodbury Wellness Center.
Born March 1, 1929, in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Alvah M. Blake, Sr. and Bertha Pierce Blake. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Billie West Blake and brother, Alvah M. Blake, Jr.
Henry was a wonderful and loving father, as well as a friend to all who knew him. He will always be remembered for his contagious smile, kind spirit to others, and his sense of humor. He always extended a hand of kindness and friendship to everyone he met. He graduated from New Hanover High School in 1947, and was a life-long member and Elder of Pearsall Memorial Presbyterian Church.
Henry moved to the Scotts Hill community in 1946 where he farmed until shortly before his death. He also worked as a checker with the ILA Local 1766 until his retirement in 2007.
Surviving are his three children, Toni B. Hardin and husband, Robert of Hampstead, Dr. H. Christopher Blake, III and wife Susan of Scotts Hill, Carol B. Batts and husband, Ricky of Scotts Hill; and grandchildren, Brad Francis and wife June, Angie F. Garrett and husband Scott, Adam Batts and wife Melissa, Crystal B. Richartz and husband David, Christopher Blake and Jonathan Batts; great-grandchildren Bradley Garrett, Ashley Garrett, Blake Batts, Dylan Richartz and Emily Batts. Brothers, Donald P. Blake and wife Cathey, David E. Blake and wife Janice, sister, Jeanette B. Marshall and husband, Jim, as well as numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend, Nola May Boyd.
Pallbearers will be Brad Francis, Scott Garrett, Adam Batts, David Richartz, Christopher Blake and Jonathan Batts.
Visitation will be held at Andrews Market Street on Thursday, June 5 from 6-8PM and other times at the family residence, 4210 Scotts Hill Loop Road. Donald "Craig" Littlejohn, 51, of Wilmington, NC, died Sunday, June 1, 2008, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center. He was born in Kane Co., IL on February 23, 1957, the son of Carol Wampach Littlejohn and the late Donald Calvin Littlejohn. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Preston Jack Drummond and a niece, Colleen Marie Regnier.
Craig loved the outdoors and fishing. He was a St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan. He was a member of the N.C. Chapter of the Wildlife Society, and also loved his dogs. Craig had worked at the Amoco Research Center in Naperville, IL and Wright Chemicals in Riegelwood, NC as a Chemical Technician, and also at Jeff Gordon Chevrolet as a salesman. His recent employment was with Residential Elevators of Wilmington, NC. He never met a stranger in his entire life.
Surviving is his wife, Tracy Kim Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC; two daughters, Amanda Littlejohn Drummond (Brandon) of Temple, GA and Georgia Rae Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC; two sons, Craig Neuenkirchen (Basha) of Burlington, NC and Jackson Calvin Littlejohn of Wilmington, NC; stepdaughter, Marcia Silverberg (Ben) of Alpharetta, GA; five grandchildren, Dakota Donald Littlejohn, Alivia Raelynn Drummond, Talon, Romeo, and Kalai Littlejohn; his mother, Carol Wampach Littlejohn of North Aurora, IL; brother, Kim James Littlejohn (Tina); sister, Donna Regnier (Ralph) of Genoa City, WI.
A memorial service will be held at the residence, 235 Inlet Drive, Wilmington, NC at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2008 by Rev. John Porter. The ceremony will be informal, and following the service, friends are asked to join the family at Mako' Restaurant in Scott's Hill. The family has a Shell Garden, and would like to invite friends to contribute shells for the garden in memory of Craig.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the N.C. Chapter of the Wildlife Society, P.O. Box 37742, Raleigh, NC 27627 or to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 2222 S. 17th Street, Wilmington, NC 28401.

Jimmie Lee Phillips, 61, of Leland, NC, died Tuesday, June 3, 2008.
He was born on November 22, 1946, in Wilmington, NC, the son of Zelma Varnam Phillips and the late Goley Phillips. He was preceded in death by his son, Scott Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam from 1968-1972.
He retired from Consolidated Freight Co. and was currently working for the NC Department of Transportation. His family and friends will remember him as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
Surviving is his wife, Judy Oxendine Phillips; one daughter, Angie Golson; one brother, Jerry Phillips; one granddaughter, Dallas Linger; and a niece, Dana Phillips.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Friday, June 6, 2008, at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel by Rev. Norman R. Hunt. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior the service Friday at Andrews Mortuary Market Street Chapel.

Floyd Edward Smith, 84, of Woodpecker Lane, Shallotte, NC died Tuesday, June 3, 2008, at his residence.
Mr. Smith was born December 24, 1923, in Gaston County, NC, to the late Ella Roper and Harvey Smith.
He was a proud lifetime member of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, and a United States Army Veteran.
Mr. Smith is survived by his daughter Sandy Blanton, husband Buddy of Cherryville, NC; one sister Ruby Dye of Gastonia, NC; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
