Will of William W. Riggan
Probated 1855

 
Warren Co., NC, Will Book 43, p. 394

November 30th 1854

 In the name of god Amen. I William W. Riggan of the County of warren & State of North Carolina being sound and disposing mind, and perfect memory blessed be to god; do this day make and publish this my last will and testament in manner following. (Viz)

It. 1st I loan my tract of land to my beloved daughter Prusillar F. King to live on during her natural life, Said land is not to have the timber cut off untill further disposed of by my Executor or Agent.

It. 2nd I loan all of my perishable property to my beloved daughter Prusillar F. King during her natural life, and at her death then to her children, if the Same should take any exception to the disposal of the property in this Item, it is my request that said property shall be Sold and my daughter have the Interest of the money during her life and at her death to her children.

It. 3rd It is my will that what money due me should be used in building a house on my land for my daughter Prusillar King

It. 4th It is my will and desire if my daughter P.F. King, should be in nead and likely to suffer my Executor or Agent shall dispose of any the above mention property in any way they think proper.

It. 5th If my land is not disposed of at the death of my daughter Prusillar F. King, it is my will that it should be equally divided betwen her children

It. 6th I make and ordain my worthy friend (Nath.l Nicholson Executor) and (John B. Powell my Agent) to this my last will and testament.

In witness whearof I have hear unto Set my hand and affix my seal the day and year above writen in the presence of,

Codecil

Omitting above to leave my son William Riggan any potion of my property I now give and bequeath to him One dollar of my Estate

Feby- Court 1855

This paper writing purporting to be the last Will & Testament of Wm W. Riggan deceased, was exhibited with the Codecil thereto annexed, ["for probate" struck out] in open Court by Nath.l Nicholson one of the Executors therein named, and the due execution of the said Will was proved by the oath and examination of Wm R Harris one of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and the due execution of the said Codecil was proved by the oath and examination of W.m H. Bobbitt one of the subscribing witnesses thereto,-

It is therefore ordered that the said Will and Codecil be Recorded & filed-

Nathaniel Nicholson the Executor therein named qualified by taking the usual oath-
