In the name of God amen the twenty Sixth day of September in one
thousand Seven Hundred and Ninty Five
I John RIGGAN of North Carolina and of the County of warren Being in in
[sic] Perfect health and of Good and Sound memory thanks be to almighty
God and Calling to Mind that all flesh Must yield to death when it Shall
please God to Call Do Make Constitute & ordain & declare this My Last
will and testement and none Other in Manner and form following
Revoakeing and annuling by these Presents all will or wills hearetofore
By Me Made by word or writeing and this to be taken for My Last will and
testement and none other ~
Item I give and Bequeath to my Eldest Sun Jacob RIGGAN one hundred and
thirty fore acres of Land on the west Side of little hubqua[rter] Creek
Beginning at a popler on the S.d Creek thence by a Line of Marked trees
to Thomas MILLERs Line to the fores.d Creek Down the Said Creek to the
Beginning one hundred & thirty fore acres more or less and as for what
Else I Intended for my Sun Jacob RIGGAN I have Given to Him before now
Item I give and Bequeath to my Sun William RIGGAN the Plantation whereon
I now Live on both Sides of the Creek thenc[e] Beginning at a Poppler on
the Creek on williams DURREM Corner then on DURREMs Line to a Gum then
by a Line of Marked trees to James MYRICKs line a Dogwood then by
MYRICKs line to the Creek then by PRIERs line to MILLERs Line To Jacob
RIGGANs Line on a Spanish oake a Corner then RIGGANs Line to the Creek
down the S.d Creek to the beginning on a Poppeller the Corner a Hundred
and thirty four acres more or Less also one Horse and one bed and two
cows & Calves and thair in Crease & one wanut table & one duch oven &

Item I Give and Bequeath to my Sun Joel RIGGAN one Doller and as for the
Rest of my Estate I Entended for my Sun Joel RIGGAN I gave to him when
he Moved, out of the County -
Item I give and Bequeath to My Daughter Silve GLOVER one Doller after My
wife Decease -
Item I give and Bequeath to My Daughter Backe MERRET one Doller after My
wife Decease -
Item I give and Bequeath to My Daughter Nancy SHEARING one bed after My
wife Decease -
And as for the Rest of my Estate I Leave to My Wife dureing her Life And
after My wife Decease To My Sun William RIGGAN
I do heareby Constitute ordain and oppoint William RIGGAN and Jacob
RIGGAN and Francis RIGGAN Snr My Excuters of this My Last will and
testement and none other

This last Will and Testament of John RIGGAN dec'ed was presented in
Court and proved by the oaths of Billey Pegram RIGGAN Francis RIGGAN
ju.r & Daniel RIGGAN, subscribg. Witnesses thereto & ordered to be
recorded, and William & Jacob RIGGAN Executors Named in said Will
