Will of Sarah Jones Kendrick, 1793, Warren County North Carolina.
In the name of God Amen I Sarah Kendrick of the County of Warren State of
North Carolina being Low in health but Sound in mind and disposing memory
do make this my Last will and Testament Revoking all others of an earlier
Date to the purpose. My Soul I recommend to Almight God who gave me it
and my body to the Clay t be decently buried by my Friend hereafter named.
I give my Benjamin Thornton one Feather Bed two sheets 1 bolster and 1
spoted counter pain and also 1 more new counterpain and one yearn Blanket
and also five head of catle now in my possession and also there increase
that they may have hereafter during my life and I also give and bequeath
to him my before named Benjamin Thornton 1 horse now called & known by
the name of the said Thornton's and also 1 mare I also give and bequeath
to Him my said Thornton 1 pewter dish 6 plates & 1 bason and six spoons &
1 safe & ne Skillet and 2 flat Irns and all my plantation Tools and 1
wooling wheel and 2 pr of Cotton cards & 1 sitting chear and all my crop
of all kinds of grain & Tobacco flax cotton peas & potatoes & meat of all
kinds that I may die possessed of and all the money that may be in my
possession of my own property & also give to my three daughters to be
equally Divided all my clothes and not the _______ of my Executors to
Wit: Mary Fox, Rebecca Nicholson, Marthy Wood, I hereby Nominate and
appoint Benjamin Thornton & Wyatt Hawkins Excrs to this my Last Will and
Testament in witness the hand and seal this 23rd Day of May Anno Dommini
One Thousand Seven Hundred and Ninety Three.
