Alston, son of John C. Alston & Bettie Mumford, died February 28, 1936. Ben C. Alston Dies At Odell Littleton, Mch. 5. Ben C. Alston, 82, died at his home in the Odell community near Littleton on Friday afternoon at 6 o'clock. He had been in failing health for several months. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. C. R. Jenkins, pastor of the Presbyterian church, were held at the home on Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Interment took place in the family burial ground near the home, with the following serving as pallbearers: Joe Shearin, William Bennett. William K. Alston, Julian Alston, William E. Alston and William W. Fimple. Mr. Alston is survived by his wife, Mrs. Charlotte Hooper Alston, four sons, John C., Chas. C., Robert M. and D. H. Alston; and three daughters, Mrs. Frank R. Ryder, and Misses Mariam and Bernadine Alston, all who reside at Odell. Surviving also are three brothers, M. P. Alston of Odell; Judge Guy C. Alston of Everett, Washington; John Alston of Richmond, Va.; one sister. Mrs. John Overstreet of Enfield, and seventeen grandchildren. Daughtry and Louisa Rencher Hooper was married Dec. 3rd 1874 Ben C. Alston & Charlotte E. Hooper was married 28 Jan. 1880 Jas. H. Hooper & Fannie Daughtry was married on Feb 21, 1883 Their son born on Dec. 23rd, 1883 Sunday night died Jan. 31st 1884 lived one month seven days DEATHS Edward Jones Hooper, M.D. died Oct. 21, 1850 Amelia, his wife, died 1851, oct, Wm. Wilberforce Hooper died Nov. 25, 1864 Rev. William Hooper died August 19th 1876 Mary Jane Hooper died January 24, 1892 Billie B. Alston died 4th Jan. 1900 Mrs. William C.
