Below are from the 1955 notes of Blanche Egerton Baker, granddaughter of Edward Davis & Rebecca Pitchford, who compiled her grandmother's letters written during the Civil War.

"The following are the names of the slaves belonging to my grandparents, Edward and Rebecca Davis, except that "Uncle Richmond," who was the husband of Lucinda, (Mammy Cindy) belonged to a neighbor, and Jim Green* may have been a free Negro. Some of thes names I remember, some are named in the will of Edward's father, Burwell Davis, as left to him (Edward), Lucinda, named in the will of Edward's brother, Dick, and the others I have gleaned from Grandma's letters. I remember Mammy Cindy's granddaughter, Mary, daughter of Amy, but I do not know whether she was born before, during or after the war. There were others."

*Jim Green was actually a Free Person of Color, son of William A. Green & Mary P. Green, who were longtime neighbors of the DAVIS family [DW]*
