Duncan Lamon – February 2010

In the founding years [1778 - 1830], few people were the equal of Duncan Lamon in their contributions to Nash County’s early government.  In fact, he appears on early maps before Nash is formed as owning a ferry on the Tar River (1750s).  He served the newly form county of Nash as a sheriff, legislator, commissioner and county court justice.  For all of these reasons, he is the choice for Person of the Month in February, 2010.
