Looking for researchers of the surnames McKinnon and Muse. I am looking for a David McKinnon b Sept 1805 in N. C. who married Catherine Muse. No dates on Catherine. I find many McKinnons and Muse surnames in the Moore Co. census. I was wondering if anyone was researching these names in that county.

Recently, I received information that my ggf, Emmett
Everett LAWHON was b. in Southern Pines, NC, abt 1875. He eventually moved to Petersburg, VA where he married Ava Virginia Cairns and they had several children.
I have hit a wall on Emmett Everett. So far no relatives
have been able to provide his parents' names and the
only info I have received is somewhat sketchy. One
relative told me that Emmett was supposedly named
after a Methodist preacher and was one of 12 children.
The names she could remember were: D.C, Clyde, Claude, Will, Zed, Husk, Coral, Minnie, Maude, Tommi, and Pearl.

I am a direct descendant of JAMES MORGAN and BELINDA RAINEY. James Morgan, born 4-4-1800 in Lafayette, Ky. Belinda Rainey born 12-20-1805 probably in Kentucky. Married 10-21-1824. Children: +Elizabeth Ann Morgan, b. 7-5-1825, Kerzioh Jane Morgan, b. 12-26-1826, James W. Morgan, b. 4-28-1828, Zerilda E. Morgan, born 5-08-1831, Thomas J. Morgan, b. May 1833, George Washington Morgan, b. 3-23-1835, Philemon S. Morgan, b. 1-29-1837, Julia Frances Morgan, b. 11-5-1842. This Morgan family moved to Illinois from Kentucky in the 1830s.
I am wondering if James Morgan was the grandson of JOHN MORGAN, who passed in 1799 and left a will to his children: Joseph, Aangeline, Mary, James, Livinia, Natham, Delilah, Elesba, and possibly John. The will was probated in Moore County. Is it possible that my James Morgan (1800) had a father named James, who was the son of John Morgan, who died in 1799? That would make my James Morgan a second or third cousin to Keziah.
I have contacted another researcher who is from this family line who is descended from a MISS KEZIAH MORGAN through ELESBA MORGAN DUNN. (I had posed this question of relation because of the similarity of the names Keziah and Kerzioh.) Keziah married DUDLEY PARSONS and lived in Surry County, NC. Keziah Morgan was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia.

I have a lot of information on the Kenneth Murchison family of Pocket Township, Moore County, N.C. Kenneth was born in Lochalsh, Scotland in 1753 and died July 6, 1834 in Pocket. His two wives were Catherine McIver and Catherine Campbell, and he fathered 22 children. There are a number of these children of whom we have no information. If anyone is a descendant of Kenneth Murchison, I would like to hear from you so that I can compile whom these children may have married, and where they may have moved, and when and where they died. There is much contradicting information, and I would like to straighten this out, if possible. I was descended from Margaret Murchison, daughter of Catherine McIver.

My GGGG Grandparents are MichaelNorthington and Nancy McKinney. They were married March 3, 1803 in CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC.
Michael is the son of Samuel Northington IV and Mary JONES. The previous Northingtons were from SURRY/SUSSEX COUNTIES VA and seem to
have come into Cumberland County NC approx.1750.
From the minutes of the Cumberland County NC Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions for April 1779-January 1791 (Jan. 28, 1779) : are two deeds from JOHN ROBESON and his wife (ELIZABETH) to MATTHEW McKINNEY and the deed is proved by S. Northington.
Families which seem to be allied in Cumberland County are JONES,McNEILL, EDMUNDS, STERLING, BRIGGS, and possibly BLOUNT/BLUNT.
One Northington Homeplace which belonged to one of the many Northington men, probably not Michael but his Grandad or Uncle, etc. is located in the "Raven Rock State Park" in Lillington NC, in what is now Harnett
County. The site includes the Northington Road and the Northington Ferry across the Cape Fear River.
Two Northington men marry McKinney women in Cumberland County (Michael and Nancy 1803, Jesse Northington and Patsey McKinney 1809).
Two Northington women marry McNeill men in Cumberland County (Malcolm McNeill and Grizella Northington 1822, Joseph McNeill and Winnie
Northington 1808).
Michael Northington and Nancy McKinney Northington (along with Michael's Father Samuel and other members of the family including McKinneys) came to the ROARING SPRINGS area, CHRISTIAN/TRIGG COUNTIES KY approximately 1808. Some family members also settled inMONTGOMERY/ROBERTSON COUNTY
TN including PORT ROYAL TN.
Their first born is Sarah (Sally) Northington who is my GGG Grandmother, the wife of WILLIAM HENRY JOHNSON of TODD COUNTY KENTUCKY.
THE FOCUS OF THIS MESSAGE: is my endeavor to find the parents, grandparents and further ancestral parents of NANCY McKINNEY.
Secondary to the above message, I am asking if you know about the McKinney, McKinnon, McKinnish connection in Cumberland County NC.

Looking for descendants of William Person and his wife Margaret. In 1850, Colin A. Munroe and his wife and children (John A., Sarah, and Benjamin) were living with the Persons in the Carthage area. They came to Horry County, SC in 1861, where they lived and raised 10 children. Mary's brother was Franklin G. Burroughs from Williamston.

I am trying to determine the parents and siblings of Joshua MANESS (also MANERS, MANOR, MAINES) born about 1829. He appears, age 21, on the 1850
Montgomery County, North Carolina Census with Lecea, age 18, and Pleasant, age 1, at #596/598.
Joshua, age 28, is enumerated at #402 in Diffies District on the 1860 Montgomery County Census with Emily, 26, Pleasant, 10, George H., 8, Branson, 6, Calvin, 4, Martha R., 1, and Betsy, 20.
It looks like the same Joshua married Martha Ann PARNELL 28 Jul 1863 in Montgomery County, North Carolina. Joshua (J. A.) is listed on the 1870
Montgomery County Census at #51/51 in Hill township. He is age 39, living with Martha, age 30, Pleasant, 20, George, 18, Larkin 16, etc.
Joshua may have had a sister named Diza. I would appreciate any information on Joshua's parents and/or siblings. Does anyone recognize Joshua as a descendant of the Moore County Maness family? Thank you!
