Alfred Moore  1755 - 1810

Born in Brunswick County, N.C., May 21, 1755.
Served as captain in the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War;
Member of North Carolina State Senate, 1782; North Carolina State Attorney General, 1782-1791;
Member of North Carolina state legislature, 1792; State Court Judge, 1799; Justice of U.S. Supreme Court, 1799-1804.
Died October 15, 1810. Interment at St. Philip's Churchyard, Southport, N.C.
Moore County, North Carolina is named for him.
