Thelma P. Setzer MAIDEN - Thelma Idell Parham Setzer, 92, of East Maiden Road, Maiden, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2006, at Palliative CareCenter & Hospice of Catawba Valley in Newton. Born Oct. 22, 1913, in Spartanburg County, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Boyd Smith Parham and the late Eva Easter Swofford Parham. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Maiden. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Junior B. Setzer; a daughter, Brenda Herman; one sister, Ophelia Scronce; and two brothers, J.T. Parham and Woody Parham. She is survived by a son, Bill Setzer and wife, Ann, of Maiden; a daughter, Barbara Hewitt and husband, Andy, of Maiden; a son-in-law, Randy Herman of Maiden; two brothers, Bill Parham of Maiden and Horace Parham of Lincolnton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, April 18, 2006, at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Maiden, with the Rev. Dr. Jeff Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Lawings Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Maiden. The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 18, 2006, from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Maiden, prior to the service.
