Mary Hovis 
(August 26, 1925 - August 8, 2006) 

Mary Elizabeth Beal Hovis, age 80, of Withers Rd., Maiden passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 at Brian Center East in Hickory. 
Born August 26, 1925 in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late Pinkney A. Beal and the late Mamie Bradshaw Beal. 
She was a member of Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Sam M. Hovis, a son, Mack Daniel Hovis, six brothers, Gaither “Cobb” Beal, Mack Beal, 
Leonard Beal , Luther Beal, Will Beal, George Beal, and three sisters, Rose Correll, Ode Correll and Mae Hewitt preceded her in death. 

She is survived by: 

1 Son: Howard Hovis 
1 Grandson: Michael Reed 

The funeral service will be held Friday, August 11, 2006 at 3:30 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden with the 
Rev. Foyd Bennett officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 
The family will receive friends Friday, August 11, 2006 from 2:30 – 3:15 at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church in Maiden, prior to the service.
