DOROTHY B. LAZENBY

MAIDEN - Dorothy Beard Lazenby, 80, of 3330 Shepherd Road, Maiden, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2003, 
at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Born Oct. 4, 1923, in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Fred Beard and the late Christina Finger Beard.
She was a member of Lawings Chapel Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher in the children’s department.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, J.R. Lazenby; a brother, Clyde Beard; and a sister, Louise Davis.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Ann Wilkinson and husband, Perry, of Maiden, and Patricia Cherry and husband, 
Jon, of Summerville, S.C.; four brothers, Glenn Beard and Carl Beard of Newton and Bill Beard and Robert Beard of Maiden; five sisters, 
Rosa Poovey, Mary Emmett and Edith Pirkel of Maiden, and Betty Willis and Ruth Cansler of Newton; five grandchildren; and eight 
great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Foyd Bennett officiating.
Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends today, Monday, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church.
