THIS DEED, made this the 2nd day of May 1924 by Julius W. Abernethy and his wife Francis Abernethy of Catawba County and the State of North Carolina, parties of the first part,

To Mrs. Ellen Harrelson of Catawba County and State of North Carolina, party of the second part:

WITNESSETH, That the said parties of the first part, in consideration of ($1200.00) Twelve Hundred Dollars to them paid by the said party of the second part, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have bargained and sold, and by these presents do hereby bargain, sell and convey unto the said party of the second part and her heirs a tract or parcel of land in the County of Catawba and State of North Carolina, in Maiden Township, adjoining the lands of J.W. Abernethy and others, and bounded as follows:

Lying in, and being in the city of Maiden, N.C. Located on the south side of college street and being situated as follows:- Beginning at a stake, ( the intersection of the southern margin of College Street, and Easter margin of Street running South and crossing the N.C. 16 Hard-Surfaced Highway at Harrelson's Store) and running with Eastern margin of street S21 - 15W. 226.7ft. To a stake (J.H. Harrelson's corner) thence with line of J.H. Harrelson and John Blankenship, S67 - 30E, 431.5ft. To a stake, (Blankenship's corner) on western margin of street, thence with said margin of street N.24 - 25E. 227.0ft. To a stake on southern margin of college street, thence with said souhtern margin of college st. N.67 - 30W. 443.9ft. to the beginning. Containing 2.28 acres more or less.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, the aforesaid tract or parcel of land and all privileges and papurtances thereunto belonging to the said party of the secon part and her heirs and assigns forever.

And the said parties of the first part do ____ covenant that they are seized of said premises in fee and have the right to convey the same in fee simple; that the same are free from incumberances; and that they will warrant and defend the said title to the same against the claims of all persons whatsoever.

STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA - Catawba County.

I, Chas L. Everhart, Notary Public of said County, do hereby certify that Julius W. Abernethy and his wife Francis Abernethy grantors, personally appeared before me this day and acknowledged the execution of the foregoing deed of conveyance, and the said Frances Abernethy being by me privately examined, separate and apart from her said husband, touching her voluntary execution of the same, doth state that she signed the same freely and voluntarily, without fear or compulsion of her said husband or any other person, and that she doth still voluntarily assent thereto. Let the said deed and this certificate be registered.
