Arnold L. Lowman Arnold Lee Lowman, 71, died Nov. 22 at Presbyterian Hospital in Charlotte. Born June 26, 1931 in Catawba County he was the son of the late Clarence Lowman and Antha Withers Lowman. He was co-founder of and president of Maiden Frame Shop until his retirement. He served in the U.S. army Paratroopers in Korea and received the Purple Heart. He was member of the American Legion and Gideon’s International. He was a member of Lawings Chapel Baptist Church and served as a deacon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Dean Lowman. Survivors include his wife of fifty-one years Lois Lovings Lowman; two daughters Gail L. and Doug Bandy of Newton, Teresa L. and Laban Helderman of Newton; brother Neal Lowman of Newton; two sisters Mildred Lowman Shrum and Carolyn Lowman Burke of Maiden; two granddaughters Melanie Bandy Spencer and Chad Spencer of Conover and Monica Helderman of Newton; two grandsons Joshua and Deanna Bandy of Maiden and Justin Helderman of Newton; one great grandson Cy Aaron Spencer of Conover. Services were held Nov. 24 at Lawings Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Dr. Foyd Bannett officiated. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to Lawings Chapel Baptist Church Building Fund or Gideon’s International. Burke Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
